Cayla hummed as she left Hearthrone City and broke off into the forest. She was slightly giddy, happy that she and Dawn were friends again, and happy that she got her second ribbon. However she she did feel a bit lonely, buuuut~ A little bit of company never hurt anybody.
"CC come on out!" Cayla called, a slight song in her tune. CC popped out and jumped into her arms. "Mind being out with me for a while?"
"Chimchar Chim!" 'Course not!' CC smiled brightly, relaxing in her arms.
"You're so cute CC." Cayla giggled, playing with the floof on his head. CC boasted at the compliment, but before he could respond someone smashed into Cayla, sending them both falling. CC landed on his feet, while Cayla landed on her back. The person that ran into them, a young man with whimsical blonde hair, and dressed in a orange and white striped top, with a long green ascot, was still standing, rubbing his chest.
"Ow! Thats it! I'm fining you!" The male yelled, glaring in front of him, before the look melted.
Cayla sat up quickly, eyes watering a bit in pain. "Fine? Oh I'm sorry! I didn't know uh how much?" CC growled at the boy, running back over to Cayla.
"Never mind, I don't think I have it in me to fine you, here." He sighed holding out his hand to help her up. "I'm Barry!" He declared once Cayla was up and dusting off her skirt.
"My name's Cayla. Nice to meet you!" Cayla greeted with a smile, Picking CC back up.
"Chimchar..." 'Don't be nice to him.' CC muttered, getting a fixed glare, to which he ignored.
"Judging by the Chimchar you're holding, I'm guessing you're a new trainer?" Barry asked, looking at the Fire Type.
"Nu-uh, I've been a trainer for a bit now, I'm a coordinator." She explained.
"Heh, no offense, but what good is a Pokemon when it isn't powerful?" Barry scoffed with a know-it-all nature that was suddenly slapped away, literally.
Cayla wasn't a violent person, in fact she can't remember once ever hurting anyone, but her body suddenly shook with rage. Her palm stung from what she just did, angry tears in her eyes. "That's a horrible way to think. Pokemon have feelings, emotions. Your Pokemon love you enough to battle for you, the least you can do is show them the same kindness!" She yelled, grey eyes burning with fire.
Barry blinked in surprise, a non-vocal conversation flickering in his head. "You're right. I'm sorry." he said. "You see, my idol has such strong Pokemon, I thought that if I had strong Pokemon I could be like him."
"You need a new Idol!"
"Chimchar!" 'You need a new Idol!' Cayla and CC pouted at the same time.
Barry laughed softly. "Yeah, I guess. Did you just come from Hearthrone? I'm heading there now for a battle!"
"Oh, uh a friend of mine was going to challenge the Hearthrone Gym but they Gym leader isn't there currently." Cayla said sheepishly.
"WHAT? WHEN WILL THEY BE BACK?!" He yelled, gripping Cayla's shoulders. Cayla shrunk back.
CC hit Barry in the chin with his head, forcing him to let go. "Char." 'Hands off.'
"Awe man, I was really looking forward to it too." Barry groaned, crumbling to the ground.
"What-What kind of Pokemon do you have?" Cayla asked sitting in the grass away from the mail trail.
"I'm glad you asked!" Barry chirped walking a bit in front of them. "Empoleon, Staraptor, Roserade, Heracross!" He yelled, throwing three Poke-Balls up into the air. Out popped the tree Pokemon, each casting their own calls upon coming out.
"Wow!" Cayla blinked in awe. "That means Piplup was your first Pokemon huh?" She asked, smiling at the Penguin Pokemon.
"Yeah! They have some real Power! Right Empoleon?" Barry grinned.
"Empol." Empoleon nodded, crossing it's flippers.
"Heres my other three." Cayla smiled, pulling out the three Pokemon. "Pachi, Vapor, and Bell."
"You like cute, and Beautiful Pokemon don't you?" Barry asked.
"All Pokemon are beautiful." Cayla hummed, setting out large bowls of Pokemon food. "Please help your selves." Roserade, Heracross, and Bell shared a bowl, Empoleon shared with Vaporeon, Pachi and Staraptor shared, and CC soon joined them, hating to eat alone. "Emepoleon, and Staraptor's wings look kinda dull, and Roserade's scent isn't as pleasant, and Heracross's shell looks weak. How do you care for them?" She asked.
"I feed them, train them, and make sure they're healed." Barry shrugged, confused.
"I think you should look into better food for Heracross and Roserade, good food means they're healthier and stronger, and you should wash Empoleon's, and Staraptor's feather's regularly, there could be a twig or something you don't first see." Cayla advised before her face heated up. "I don't mean to tell you what to do, I-I was just-"
"That's actually a good Idea. But if you're wrong I'm fining you!" Barry huffed with a confident smile.
"Ah! Flareon!" A voice yelled. When both trainer's looked up they saw a fluffy orange and blonde Pokemon heading towards them. It came to a stop at CC's disregarded food, and started eating. "Flareon no! That's not yours!"
"So fluffy!" Cay squealed, staring to pet the Flareon as it ate happily. "Awe~"
"Woah...." Cayla looked up, finally realizing the Flareon's trainer was there. "You're Gorgeous!" The trainer exclaimed, hearts replacing his Irises as he looked at Cayla.
