Chapter 41: Grand Festival; Second Round-Second Battle

Cayla stared across the field, where her opponent, and Topaz's ex-trainer stood. The Murkrow haired girl could hear a few whispers, about why she wasn't smiling, since that's what she was known for. She saw the woman, Maria, smirk. Apparently she heard them too. It was petty, but Cayla decided not to let her have control of her. Her serious face melted into a kind, beautiful smile, though her eyes were still that of molten silver. The woman frowned and sneered at that.

"5 minutes on the clock! Begin!" MC Marian yelled.

"Vulpix, Beautifly, lets shine!" Maria yelled. Out of capsuled Poke-Balls popped out two beautiful Pokemon. Vulpix's red/brown fur was pretty, and shiny, well taken care of, and Beautifly was truly beautiful, with sparkling wings.

"CC, Topaz, lets start the show!" Cayla smiled, throwing out her Pokemon. Pretty blue streamers wrapped around them.

"Monferno!" CC growled.

"Purrow." Topaz purred, looking ahead.

Beautifly and Vulpix flinched and looked away with guilt when seeing Topaz. Cayla hummed in thought, they felt guilty about Topaz being abandoned when she was with them.

"CC Focus Punch, Topaz Thunder." CC made a cooing sound, his hands started to light up at his focus. Topaz yowled and released a powerful Thunder at CC. The Thunder was absorbed into the Focus Punch, turning his hands bight yellow.

"Will-O-Whisp and Gust!" Maria ordered while they were focusing.

Bright purple and blue orbs circled around Vulpix before it fired them. Beautifly flapped its wings quickly, sending the whisps towards them faster.

CC didn't move, or try to dodge, and Cayla didn't ask him to. They let the attack hit. CC used his tail to slap the flames. Will-O-Whisp was sucked into his tail flame, turning it a beautiful blue. With the extra energy, he darted forward and used the Thunder Focus Punch on Vulpix, sending it back and smacking into Beautifly.

"Get up!" Maria ordered. "Vulpix use Double Team, Beautifly Hidden Power!"

Vulpix multiplyed as Beautifly used Hidden Power.

"Attract Topaz, and CC use Iron Tail." Topaz fluttered her eyes before winking, and sending bright pink hearts at Vulpix. The real Vulpix's eyes became hearts as it staggered. CC's turned a silver, lighting up a bit purple due to the Will-O-Whisp still in his tail. His tail slammed into Beautifly, sending it to the ground. "Lets finish thil! Fury Swipes, and Iron Tail! Together!"

"Mon!"

"Pur!"

Together, they ran forward. Topaz jumped up with CC, her claws became long and sharp before she slashed Vulpix. At the same time, CC hit Beautifly with another Iron tail, knocking them both out.

"Both of Maria's Pokemon are unable to battle! Cayla wins!" Marian announced, getting loud cheers from the crowd.

Cayla was tackled by both Topaz, and CC and fell to the ground, laughing. "I know! We're going to the finals!" she giggled. She snuck a look at Maria, but the woman sneered and stalked off, causing her to sigh.
