Before it starts, I just want to give a shout-out to Anderson204 for helping me with this book and many of my other ones. Hope y'all enjoy!
I never had the best childhood.
With a thud, a young girl in Air Nation clothes is thrown out of an older looking building. She looks to be around six years of age and was covered in dust. She landed hard on her butt. It would probably be bruised. But that was the least of her worries at the moment.
The girl rubbed the back of her head, causing her blonder hair to cover parts of her fingers. Her head was angled slightly down as she stared at the dusty beige ground under her. Her electric blue eyes glance up to the door way she came through.
There stood a tall bald man in Air Nation clothing. He stood at around six foot one inch and was heavily built. A scowl marked the man's tan skin as his gray eyes bore into the girl with nothing but disappointment and hate.
"You are useless Evangeline. You can't do anything properly." The man let's out a scoff, "Even your wings are useless."
Sure enough two snow white wings protrude from the girl's back. Evangeline looks back at them sadly. They open a little and give a flutter or two.
The man scoffs again. "Pathetic," he turns and enters the old, dark wooded house behind him. The door slams shut and Evangeline flinches at the sound. A tear rolls down he soft pale cheek and her lips quiver.
I grew up in the middle of the woods at the southern most edge of the main land Earth Kingdom. The house I lived in was old and dark wooded, being passed down from generation to generation of my family. There was only space for a couple of rooms, such as the dining room where my parents ate and cooked, a bathroom in between two bedrooms, my parents' large bedroom to the right of the bathroom, and my tiny bedroom to the left of the bathroom. Of course, I was given the smallest room in the house. But, despite being born with claustrophobia, I didn't mind the small room. It was the only place in the house that I felt truly safe. Well, mostly.
Evangeline sat on her bed in silence. A smile graced her pale rose pink lips as she played with the air. The air danced around her fingers at her will as her fingers moved around with the air.
Her room was fairly small, only having two pieces of furniture in it. Her bed and a small dresser. The bed frame was small with one wooden post at each end of the bed. The the mattress wasn't in the best shape with the many holes it had, and the only source of coverage was a thin blanket that was barely long enough to cover the mattress.
The dresser was across the room from the bed which was in the middle of the room with the head of it against the left-hand side wall when one walks in. Still, it was only around three feet away from the bed. The dresser was made of medium brown wood, unlike the house's dark brown-almost black wood. It held very few items, mainly just clothes for the young girl to wear, which were all Air Nation. The dresser had only three drawers, two of which were empty. Like the bed, the dresser's back was against the wall.
There were two exits or entrances to the room. One was a door that was in the corner of the wall the dresser was pressed against. The other was a window that markers the middle line of the room. The two were rarely ever opened, as of the girl's parents' demands.
Sunlight illuminated Evangeline's features as it pored in through the window. Her hair and wings sparkled as the light hit them while her pale skin shined. She let out a giggle as she played in the sun's rays, the air now moving along her arms as they twisted and twirled.
A small Earth Kingdom town was located just Northwest of my house. I'd heard that is was a very peaceful place, even with the war going on around it. It was easy for the Fire Nation to take it over though, as they did so without much of a fight when I was four. Still, I had never gone to the quaint place. My parents forbid it.
