I keep waiting,
waiting for the days
where the sun always shines,
where the world isn't cast
in a shadow of darkness

I keep waiting,
waiting for the time
when the shadows don't
spill crimson blood
on those who aren't wounded

I wait
for the nights to pass
though in agony sometimes
with tears
streaming down my face

I sit and wait
for a world where fights
didn't happen
and people didn't treat other people
like shit

I wait
as the storm passes,
their screams echoing
in my empty
head

I keep waiting
for peace,
but it's never
going to
happen
