He was right next to me, eating nachos and listening to the radio. I checked my turquoise dyed hair in the mirror once again, smiling softly.
The old motorhome seemed to be struggling as I stepped on the gas. Hopefully we won't be left on the road again.
“You know...ever since I met you everything goes well. I think you're my lucky charm.”
Taehyung said with his mouth stuffed.
I just smiled not wanting to start a conversation as I felt a weird feeling at the stomach.
“We were lucky to find that one sign or whatever that lead us to this... Vehicle?” I thought again, “ so cut that charm thing, I don't like it .”
He glared at me and left his seat, probably heading to the couches behind.
The motorhome wasn't one of the big ones, more likely the smallest ever but was quite comfortable and warm. There were two couches, both small but one tinier than the other.
Of course Taehyung took the bigger one. His royal ass couldn't fit in my cave of pillows.
Taehyung then decided to fix the old television. A black box, clearly unable to function properly.
So on, he started pressing buttons, rearranging the wires. I was trying to concentrate but I couldn't help worrying about the clumsy man.
I heard him sighing a lot of times, cursing through his teeth and basically regretting this whole act he pulled.
And then he freaking screamed!
I stopped the vehicle instantly turning to him and preparing to see a roasted body lying dead in a corner.
But no, it wasn't like that at all. I just saw a a kid licking his aching finger and staring at me like a sad puppy.
“I tried to stand up and I stepped on it.” he raised his hand showing me his best pained expression.
I pulled him up from the dusty rag and took a look at it.
“That's terrible! Oh my, it's crashed!” I pressed it a bit.
“Ah!” He scrunched up his face “ really?”
“Yeah, I think we should cut it”
He took his hand away.
“Are you crazy?” his eyes wide open.
“Tch, Tae! I thought you went through an electric shock or something! You could have told before I stopped in the middle of the road like a mad man!”
“Okay, I am sorry.” He sat down again, pouting.
Going back to the driver's seat, I didn't see his small smile appearing.
“I like your hair!” He shouted.
“Yeah sure you do.” I whispered, trying to pull over the vehicle on a fairly quiet place near the road. My goal was to lead us in a certain beach, but I didn't see that happening quickly with the kind of speed we were driving.
I rested my head to the steering wheel and let out a deep breath. Now that we are secure I can surely chill a bit and enjoy.
I probably drifted off, because minutes later, I opened my eyes to another sleepy face, both of us wrapped under the same blanket and with little space between us.
The lights were off, only the slight light of the moon falling in between the windows.
He wasn't asleep, yet he was dreaming about things I couldn't even fathom.
I didn't want to check him out but I instinctively did. His collarbone showing, smooth skin reflecting the light of the moon.
He looked like an angel and my absent-minded self found it thrilling.
And his face so close to mine, eyes staring pass me, eyelids blinking heavily here and then, lips half open.
And before I knew it he was staring me back.
I instantly felt my lungs failing me and I tried a lot not to start coughing right then.
“Um..ca-”
“Just sleep, okay?” His voice deeper than usual and hoarse.
With a sudden move he pressed his head to my chest, hands finding their way to my waist, legs intertwined with mine oddly but in a comfortable way. Basically his tall figure caging my shorter one, forbidding me of every move. And when I felt his wet lips making contact with the skin of my neck, I was finally sure.
I am doomed.
