I walk into school only to be bombarded with questions about Alice. "Do you know what happened to Alice?" "Where you there when it happen?" "Did you know he was crazy?" "How do you feel about his return?" etcetera etcetera it's honestly getting annoying. I try my best to ignore them and continue walking but on my walk I bump into someone I honestly don't feel like dealing with now.

"Oh hey Mani how was your summer?" I already knew who it was just by their annoying voice but I turned around anyway just to be greeted by her annoying face.

"Hey Jessica it was fine I guess." I replied trying to seem as uninterested as possible hoping she would get the hint that I didn't want to talk to anyone especially her but she didn't or she just didn't care.

"Thats good I just hope you're fine you know with the whole Alice coming back situation. Did you know about that?" She asked with a shit eating grin on her face yet innocence in her voice to fool everyone into thinking she actually cared but I knew better. I knew the real Jessica.

"Look Jessica I don't want to talk about it so can you just leave me alone?" I reply again trying to drop the hint that I don't want to talk.

"Oh don't be that way I was just trying to make small talk." She said loud enough so everyone's attention was on us. She was about to say something else but was interrupted.

"Oh my god Jessica will you stop it's obvious she doesn't want to talk so just leave her alone." I look up to see Jake who even though i'm still mad at i'm glad he's here.

"Come on Jakey I wasn't trying to be rude I was just trying to make sure Mani here was okay I mean aren't you worried too seeing as Alice was also your friend" she looked up at Jake giving him puppy dog eyes to try and convince him of her innocence. Luckily he also knew what she was really like so he wasn't affected.

"Trying to make sure she's okay my ass, let's go M" He turns away and grabs my hand pulling me down the hallway and away from Jessica and the small crowd that gathered.

"Damn she's so fucking annoying" Jake says breaking the semi awkward silence that surrounded us.

"I can't believe she started the year repeating the same thing she did last year. You would think she would grow up a little but I guess not." He states angrily. He continues to talk about how annoying she is while my mind wanders somewhere else.

Last year

I was in the same situation I was a few minutes ago but this time it was a week after the incident. They gave us a week off because of how serious it was. When we came back I entered the school like I always did but this time everyone looked at me. It was like they was judging me with their eyes and that scared me. Jessica approached me with that same shit eating grin she had on a few moments ago with the first words she said to me being "are you a psychopath too? I mean you were his friend so you have to be right?" and again a crowd gathered and against Jake came to my rescue. I was broken out my thoughts by Jake snapping his fingers in front of my face.

"Helllooooo? Earth to M." He looked at me with a concerned expression on his face. "Are you okay you kinda spaced out." He asked worry obviously evident in his voice.

"Huh oh yeah i'm fine." I reply quickly and in return get an unconvinced look from Jake.

"Well if you say so." He says moving his gaze from me to in front of him. He looks down at his feet before speaking up again.

"Um about this morning you don't actually mean what you said right?" I looked at him dumbfounded. He avoided eye contact and continued. "I mean Alice is dangerous and I don't want you getting hurt." I stopped walking and he stopped too. He looked at me to see what was wrong.

"Jake you've got to be kidding me." I say the annoyance obvious in my voice. "You and I both know Alice isn't dangerous."

"But thats the thing M we don't know." He replys a little more louder as he's also getting annoyed. He's about to say something else but gets distracted from something behind me. I turn around to see what he's looking at only for me to also be at a loss for words. The thing more specifically the person that was looking back at us was Alice in the flesh.
