A Bleeding Heart

Jakes POV

"Ugh I really want to get out of here" I say in a grumpy tone. This place is annoying. There's always nurses walking around along with coming in my room to check on me even if i'm sleeping or at least trying to. The beeping of the heart monitor always keeps me up.

And then there's the fact that there's nothing to do here except watch shitty TV shows.

And Mani can't come here as much because of school. God I miss her

And then there's Alice has he really changed? I doubt it.

"ARGGGHH CAN THAT STUPID THING JUST SHUT UP!!!"

Drip

"Well you have officially lost it Jake your screaming at an IV drip thing or whatever its called" I say to my self with a sigh

"I swear I'm going to loose my mind in here"

"Maybe I can help with that" a female voice from across the room says. I look up to see the face of the most beautiful girl in the world.

Thump

"Hey M I thought you couldn't come today" I say with a smile. She smiles back.

"Well that was a lie we just wanted to surprise you."

"Wait we?" I look at her with a questioning look but before she could answer the person in question came in.

"Hey Jake" Alice says to me as he walks towards me and Mani.  Just great can't she go a day without bringing him here.

"Hey" I reply back trying to hide the disappointment in my voice.

Mani continues talking without noticing the tension between me and Alice. She tells me about how her day was, what's going on in school, she even brought me my phone so I could listen to music. I swear I fall more in love with her everyday.

It would have been a nice moment if Alice wasn't staring at her the whole time. I mean granted I do it too but still. Plus its evident the dude has a major crush on her but that's besides the point. He's not staring at her with love in his eyes it's more like a longing or a craving. All I know is that it's really creepy and I want it to stop. After M finishes catching me up on what's happened during my time in the hospital I speak up.

"Hey Alice how have you've been" I say obviously catching him off guard he quickly turns to me before talking.

"Huh?"

"I asked how have you've been" I say a little harsher than I meant to.

"Oh um I've been fine" he says trying to get his composure. He then gently smirks as he continues.

"I bet it's pretty boring in here for you though."

"You wouldn't imagine" I say with a slight smile of my own. I can hear M giggling in approval.

"What's so funny?" I ask as I turn towards her with a full on smile on my face now. I put my hand on her head as she begins to blush. Realizing this I make a giggle of my own.

"Hey now what's so funny" she questions, mocking me as she does.

"Nothing its just that you're super cute." She begins to blush even harder but before she can express her feelings through words Alice abruptly stands up.

"I'm going to the bathroom" he says as he walks out the room. M doesn't pay it much mind but I know there's something more to it but I just shrug it off.

Me and M continue to talk but we get interrupted by an alert from her phone. She quickly checks the message and a face of disappointment is evident on her face. She looks up at me before speaking.

"Alice went home he said there was something he had to do and I have to go to it's almost 10:00 and I have school tomorrow." She says with a sad smile obviously wanting to stay longer.

"It's fine" I say with a comforting smile. She smiles back. We say bye and she gets up and leaves. I decide that it's also time for me to sleep so I lay down and close my eyes falling into a peace slumber.

I'm awoken by a loud noise in my room. I slowly open my eyes and am met with utter darkness and a hand over my mouth. I begin to panic and try to pry the hands off of me but they're just to strong.

"Quiet I'd advise you to not make this harder than it has to be." I look up at the person who has a mask on their face though theory voice is a dead giveaway. My face shifts to one of anger and confusion.

"You look like you want to say something" the voice replies almost in a mocking manner. He laughs and then continues speaking.

"You might be wondering why I'm doing this why would I wake you up in the middle of the night" he says as he takes his hand off my mouth and starts slowly pacing around the room acting like hes trying to find the answer himself.

"What the fuck do you want Alice" I say with venom leaking from my voice but Alice doesn't bat an eye not scared at all with the fact that I know who he is.

"Hmm what do I want? Oh I know I want you to stay away from M that's what I want" he says in harsh tone.

"Well hate to break it to you that's not going to happen she's my friend and I can hang out with her if I want to."

"Oh we both know she's more than that" he says as he begins to walk towards me. Getting a little to close for comfort.

"And that's a problem" he backs away from me and shrugs.

"Well other wont be a problem anymore seeing as you won't be there to pester her.

"What are you-" before I could finish I'm interrupted by a pain in my stomach. I look down to see a knife inside of me blood dripping from where the knife had cut me. Alice pushes it in deeper causing me to take a sharp breath in and cough blood coming out as I do.

Alice pulls the knife out pulling up his mask so that only I can see him. There's a smile plastered on his face like he's happy with his work. I try to speak but only blood comes out of my mouth as I do Alice only laughs seemingly amused by the display in front of him.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you it would cause you death to be more painful than it has to." He says with a smile as he continues.

"You know it was hard trying to find a way to get rid of you but when I found out about how your mom is a cheating whore and how your dad wasn't your dad I was delighted. I shared this knees to your father because I would want to know if I were him and with your dad being a drunk and all I knew he would loose it taking his anger out on you." He said his smile only getting wider as he saw the fear on my face.

"Sadly it seems he didn't do his job correctly and you were still breathing though I was willing to let you live for her sake but it seems like you didn't learn your lesson. Don't worry though I'll take good care of her for you." He says. My face turns into one of anger but he just turns away before speaking once more.

"You know Jake I'm really going to miss you" he walks out the door leaving me alone. My eyes start to feel heavy and I slowly close them slowly drifting off to the darkness I know to well.

"M" I manage to mutter out before being consumed completely.
