The unfamiliar scent of alcohol and other disinfectants made themselves known to the raven haired boy. He had realized that he was laying down on a bed and was in a room that would be compared to as a hospital room, just then, flash backs from seemingly hours ago went through to him.
'Fuck, I have got to stop waking up like this' he mentally groaned. Despite the memories of the previous events, Yuri still hadn't known who brought him here... 'Plisetsky? No way in hell.'
Just then, one of the curtains that was surrounding the bed was roughly pulled open, making him gasp in shock. Upon looking at the person's face, his eyes widen as an apparent blush stained his cheeks a bright pink.
Viktor, the one boy he recently met, who lived in the back of his mind ever since Yuri had met eyes with his peircing blue ones, was now standing in front of him with raw emotion that he couldn't describe plastered on his face.
He didn't say a word as he sat down on the vacant space of the bed (beside Yuri's hip). Viktor timidly raised his hand but as he was about to make contact with Yuri's resting one, he dropped it and retreated it back to him.
Heart erraticly beating, Yuri opened his mouth but closed it in fear of saying something wrong. The tension in between the two was so thick that if you got a knife, you could possibly slice through it.
Fortunately for Yuri, the curtain was abruptly pulled and was met with a worried face.
"Yuri! I'm sorry I couldn't come earlier, I heard that you-." Seeing the situation at hand, Irina smirked. "Oh was I interrupting? I could leave-." The expression Yuri had was almost comical.
"No! I mean– er..." Viktor subtly looked at him and a chuckled. He began to leave but not before ruffling Yuri's hair and giving him a fond smile. Soon after he exited, Irina was sporting a huge grin.
"Yuri! Why didn't you tell me there was something going on between the two of you!" She gasped dramatically, "I though I was your friend."
The boy was flustered beyond repair, butterflies fluttering in every corner of his stomach. "There's nothing going on with us!"
Suddenly, Irina stopped. A look of realization dawning her face. "You like... boys?"
He paled. Only ever hanging out with her once– or twice being right now, Yuri wasn't sure whether he could tell her. 'What if she tells someone?" He was panicking. Trying his best to choke down the tears, he decided to tell the truth and just deal with the consequences later, besides, she's gay as well. With a heavy heart he said, "Yeah."
Eyes widening in surprise, Irina was beaming in joy, shocking Yuri at the same time. "Yes!! I thought I was the only 'different' one here! Besides her, but I don't know if she was faking or not so... Anyway! We're going to be best buds from now on, ok?" Clasping his hands, she looks into his eyes.
Letting out a sigh of happiness, that being someone accepting him for him, Yuri gave a soft smile and replied "Of course."
They were chatting for about another hour and soon heard the bell. "Oh my god, was it fine that I didn't attend class." Yuri asked looking at Irina for confirmation.
"Yeah totally fine, I told all your teachers, that you were sick and that I was taking care of you. They excused me too. Also got your schedule by Mr. Schaefer by the way."
After thanking her for everything, they both made their separate ways. Before Yuri stepped out though, he realized he still had to ask for all the missed activities. It only took about 30 minutes to do.
Walking home was as energizing as usual since telling Irina about himself, Yuri felt giddy. He hasn't had a friend in a long time.
Reaching "home" he checked the living room and found that no one was there, not even his new tutor 'she probably comes thrice every week only.' He thought.
Once Yuri walked into his room, he saw his ice skates leaning beside his desk. Gasping to himself, he had realized that it was a perfect day to go out.
Pulling out his phone, he searched for any ice skating rinks in the area and found one that wasn't as popular, "less known, less people, less interaction." He smiled.
The time he was finished changing his clothes and packing everything he needed, Yuri heard the front door open and grimaced. Sighing, he though that today was actually turning out ok (ignoring the whole Plisetsky fiasco).
"Come here, Yuri." His mother calmly spoke.
Reaching her, she grabbed his hand and led him to the couch. "I want to talk to you about yesterday," He really didn't want to be here.
"That? Oh I um passed out from exhaustion. B-before you came in, I just got back f-from jogging. And you know me, I've always had problems breathing since I was a kid, probably an asthma attack." Despite he rambling, It wasn't a complete lie, he in fact had always have respiratory issues.
Mrs. Katsuki looked at him, uncertainty clouding her eyes. Sighing she told him that if it happens again she'd take him to the doctor with no excuses.
Relief flooded through Yuri as he bid goodbye to her. Once he was standing in front of the apartment complex, he grabbed his phone then proceeded to search up the directions.
Yuri was glad to see that it was only a 27 minute walk to get there. He was happily gripping his bag that contained the ice skates as he made his way there.
Reaching the said place, he let out a little huff of excitement seeing the building. Not wanting to wait any longer, he rushed inside and was delighted to see that only 3 other people were there, not bothering to see who they were, Yuri went up to the employee behind the counter and registered himself in.
All set and ready, Yuri walked into the rink, happy to have finally felt ice underneath him and the way he glided on it.
Glancing up to see who it was, he gasped realizing that it was the boy who he had been thinking about non stop after their little interaction awhile ago.
Not only was he amazed by the fact he was there. The mesmerizing performance Victor gave wasn't one to forget. The way his body moved was oh so graceful, and the turns that were so precise and calculated made Yuri jealous. Finishing the last of it, Viktor met eyes with him.
"Enjoyed the show, did you?"
Sorry for taking forever >.< luv all of you <3 bye !!
