" Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing here?" he snarled.
I stepped into the warehouse, assessing the situation.
I'd just walked into a teenage hangout. Maybe more than a hangout. There were at least 10 of them, lounging around on sofas, hanging off of the rafters. Drinking. Smoking. Some making out. It was worse than a rat infestation.
Was this what I was supposed to be doing now? Was this what normal people the same age as me did?
For a moment I imagined myself in their position, imagined myself making out with someone I didn't even know, smoking weed in an abandoned house.
The warehouse was big, tools lined that walls, junk was stacked up in the corners. I could see already that Tony would spend most of his time here.
" I'm talking to you"
Two of them walked up to me, two of the biggest, I could see, the rest looked at the potential fight, as if begging for something to happen.
" What is this, huh. A monkey suit?" one of them said, flicking my outfit, tugging my hair. The others laughed.
" I haven't seen you around, are you new to this town?" The smaller one asked, genuinely curious.
There wasn't any way I could get them out of here without causing a racket. I couldn't argue with them, they wouldn't listen to sense. And I knew that, because if I were in their situation, I wouldn't either.
I was glad none of the other Avengers hadn't found these people. If anyone of them found them first, they would recognise them as superheroes, they would tell people, which meant we would be compromised. I would have to deal with this on my own.
" I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
They both laughed. The others did, too. And for a second, I felt slightly intimidated. But I snapped back, realising who I was talking too.
" What is that accent, girl? I like it."
" Is it Russion?"
" Do you know Putin?"
" Leave, now." I said.
" Or what?" he asked, smirking, taking a long drag of his cigarette, blowing it in my face. " You'll go tell your mommy?"
They snickered some more. " I'll tell you one last time to leave." I ordered. " Leave, don't come back. This is my place now. Leave before anyone gets hurt"
They laughed even more, some bending over in hysterics. " You really think you could tell us what to do? What are you? 5 foot 5? 16? We could yeet you out of here any day of the week."
" Guess what." The bigger one said. And when I say bigger, I meant at least a foot taller than me. " I'll go easy on you. Wouldn't want to hurt a pretty face like yours"
" Hey, Aaron. Go easy. Remember what happened last week?"
A couple of other teens stood up, walking towards the door, pushing passed me on their way out, done for the night. " Hey! Where are you going? I thought we were a team!"
" Later losers." Another said, walking out the door.
" So," I said. " Are you really going to fight me?"
" If that's what it takes to reclaim our base" The smaller one said.
I made my move, deciding on not unleashing my blades. I was here to intimidate, not to hurt. Not too badly, anyways. I punched the first square in the face, bringing the other ones head to my knee, knocking him out first try.
