Wad' POV

Unlike the last time I came home with P'Prem, my mom didn't pick us up at the station. When we got to the house, I noticed a car parked in front. Does Mom have a guest? Walking in, I was surprised not to find my mom in the living room.

"Mom," I call out. "We are here."

"In here," my mom says from the kitchen.

Walking into the kitchen, I am shocked to see that she is not alone stopping in the doorway causing P'Prem to run into me. Sitting at the table is a man I never thought would be in my house, my father. It was his car out front.

"What's wrong," P'Prem whispers in my ear.

"Father," I greet the man sitting at the table, glaring at my mom as she glares back.

"Father?" I hear P'Prem ask behind me as I nod.

My father turns to frown at me, and as he looks behind me and sees P'Prem, his frown deepens. Why is he here? Why the hell did my mom let him in the house?

"Why am I here?" he derides. Making me realize I asked that out loud. "My son came home last weekend and told me you were dating a guy. I have been calling you to see if it was true, but you won't answer my calls. So I had to come here. That is why I am here."

"Your son?" I laugh. "I would think you would have gotten the point when I REFUSED to answer your calls. Besides, why would you care what I do? You haven't ever before? Why now? We have nothing to talk about, so you should leave."

"I am your father!" my father yells. "You will listen to me! Now answer my question!"

"My father?" I scoff. "My father LEFT when I was twelve, and not in all the years since have you once TALKED to me. NOT ONCE! So you don't get to pull the father card. What I do and who I do it with is not your concern. I am NOT your son. I do not claim you as my father. I am throwing you away just like you threw us away. So NO! I will not listen to you or answer your fvcking question. This is not your house. You are not welcome here. So please leave. Now!"

My father turns to my mom, "Is this how you raised our son?"

I am just about to yell once again when my mom speaks, "My son. He is MY son. As he said, you had not been a father. EVER! So you have no room to come here now and act like one now."

"He is my son!" My father yells at my mom. "And he is gay. So what did you do wrong? If I had known you would turn him gay, I would have..."

"Would have what?" I yell at him. "You wouldn't have done a fvcking thing. All you ever cared about is your fvcking mistress and that bastard half brother of mine! Even when you were with mom, you spent your nights and weekends there. Do you really believe I thought you were away at work? You have never been a father to me. NOT ONCE! Because you never wanted mom or me. You made that fvcking clear every day of my life."

Both my mom and father look at me. I laugh. They didn't know I knew the truth. I was young when they divorced. I might have been a kid, but people talked in front of me, thinking I wouldn't understand because I was a kid. How could I not realize that my father's parents made him marry my mom even though he had already got another woman pregnant? The family gossiped about it all the time. The second my father's parents died, he divorced my mom and went back with that woman he had kept on the side along with that bastard half brother of mine.

"You knew?" my mom breathes out. I look and see she is about to cry, giving her a small nod. I never told them, and being able to say it out, I feel like I am free-falling. I can feel P'Prem place his hand on my back. The touch anchors me.
