Wad's POV

"Why are you watching this?" Kong asks from behind me. I wasn't expecting him, so he made me jump.

"Why the hell are you sneaking up on me?" I hiss, holding my hand on my chest.

"Well?" Kong goads.

"I am a masochist?" I answer, "I don't fvcking know. You went and saw P'Arthit."

"Yeah," Kong laughs, "And that turned out so well. You saw the end result."

"Does that still bug you?" I ask, remembering the scene it caused.

"Is it weird that I am more upset that P'Arthit may lose friends he has known forever?" Kong wonders out loud.

"It wouldn't bother you if he stayed friends with the person he had a crush on until he met you?" I ask. I am shocked that Kong would be fine with this. Doubt I would be.

"Shit! Dating is so damn complicated!" Kong growls. "I know he likes me now, and he never acted on his crush once. With everything he did the other day, I am sure he no longer likes her like that. If I don't let him be friends, isn't that like saying I don't trust him or have faith in us?"

"Why are so many people in his line?" I whine.

"Are you even listening to me?" Kong snips, "And that is not even bad. You should have seen the line my boyfriend had. It was almost as long as mine is. So stop complaining."

Scanning through the line, I am startled by the number of boys there are. P'Prem was one of the more hostile hazers. I thought for sure people would remember that and avoid his line. Why were he and I even picked to do this? We are not social!!

"Come on," Kong says as he grabs my arm, dragging me away. "You don't need to see this, and I am hungry."

"Have you got your present for P'Arthit?" I ask as we begin walking toward the canteen.

"Not yet," Kong replies, "I will get it tomorrow when P'Arthit is the booth. I don't want to run the chance of running into him while I am shopping. You?"

"Tomorrow? Really?" I look at Kong, and he nods, "Can I go with you?"

"Sure," Kong shrugs, "P'Arthit goes in at 10? Didn't you have the morning spot today?" I forgot I go in at the same time as P'Arthit tomorrow.

"Shit! Hang on," I pull out my phone, going to contacts and stop, "Who would I ask to switch my times with P'Prem? P'Dear?"

"Isn't he in the booth with P'Prem right now?" Kong asks, looking back to where we came from just now.

"He is," I sigh. "He won't check his phone, and if I go there, P'Prem will see me and ask questions. I guess I will go in the afternoon to get his gift. I just hate shopping alone."

"You head to the canteen," Kong tells me, "I will run back and ask for you. Save me a seat." He runs off before I can stop him. Well, ok, then. I guess I am going to the canteen.

I pull out my earbuds from my pocket. Putting them in before I start heading for the canteen. A senior walks by me. I wai them as they pass. Smiling, I realize I am at the same place I was at the time I ignored P'Prem. It is amazing how I missed him back then. Especially now when he is the first thing I see and sometimes the only thing I see. But back then, I was trying to be invisible. I just wanted to ghost through...

A hand grabs me on the shoulder, and I turn, swinging my backpack.

"What the hell, N'Wad?" P'Win shouts, rubbing his shoulder.

"Sorry, P'Win," I gasp, "I didn't..."

"Stop," P'Win laughs, "I don't blame you. I should have known better. I was just going to ask you where the booth was."
