This one takes place a few weeks after Newt and Tina got married.
"Tina," Newt whispered. He gently shook her sleeping form. She groaned and rolled over.
"What?" she hissed sleepily.
"It's time to get up."
"It's still dark," she muttered. "Why are we getting up?"
"Becasue we're leaving today, remember? The ship leaves at 4:30."
"Oh," she mumbled, sounding very put out.
Newt climbed out of bed and switched on the light. Tina scowled when the light hit her and pulled the covers over her head. He saw her and chuckled. Moving to her side of the bed, he pulled the covers away to reveal her face. She frowned, squeezing her eyes closed to keep the light out of them. He laughed again and pressed his lips to hers in a brief kiss. She moved to kiss him back but he pulled away. She made a noise of protest.
"You can kiss me if you get out of bed," Newt told her.
"But I want to stay in bed," Tina whined. "It's warm here."
"It's not cold in the room," he informed her, whisking the blankets off her. She groaned as he slipped his arms under her and lifted her off the bed, setting her on her feet.
"See, it's not that cold," he said.
Tina scowled. "It's cold," she muttered.
Newt laughed. "You're just saying that to be argumentative."
Her only response was to press her lips to his. He returned her kiss gently. She pulled away a moment later.
"Newt," she whispered. Her voice had taken on a more worried tone and he knew she was no longer joking.
"What is it?"
"Do we have to go to New York?"
"Yes, darling," Newt murmured. "Practically all your things are there and you do still work for MACUSA."
"But I'm scared, Newt," she admitted. "I don't want to-- It's-- I haven't been there since . . . you know, and--"
"I know, Tina," he assured her. "I know this is going to be painful for you but I'm going with you. I'll be there with you."
"I know, but--"
"Shh," he murmured, resting his forehead against hers. "It's okay. I'll be there for you. I love you, Tina."
Tina sighed, kissing him again. "I know. I love you too." She pulled away reluctantly. "Let's go."
The two of them changed quickly, packing their pajamas in their suitcases. Then they left the room and made their way downstairs.
Nagini and Jacob had gone to Hogwarts after the wedding to give Newt and Tina some time alone so they didn't have to worry about saying goodbye.
They made their way to the door and pulled on their coats. Tina tied the belt tightly around her waist as Newt slipped his scarf around his neck.
Leaving the house, they locked the door behind them and quickly went to the nearest alley where they Apparated to an alley near the docks. Tina slipped her free arm around her husband's waist. He held her close as they made their way to their ship.
They boarded the ship and approached the counter. Newt pulled out their tickets and passports and handed them to the man on the other side of the counter. The man looked exhausted, like he'd rather be sleeping than doing what he was doing. He checked their tickets and their passports, comparing them to a list.
