MISHIKA

"What? Don't look at me as if I'm a thief" I reply, Divya was sitting right before me frowning, her hands crossing her chest.
"Then what should I do? In fact, what did you do Mish, at least you should have listened to him" she said.
"He made me wait for more than an hour Divya, what else do you think I would have done?
"I understand that you were angry and you should be I totally agree with it, but why did you wait for him? and if you did that why did you leave immediately when he came to you, I don't understand what were you trying to prove ?" she scoffed.
"What was I trying to prove? What is wrong with you Divya? What would I try to prove...It was just that...that..." I can't find words to explain how I was feeling "Look I don't want to discuss it anymore, please change this topic," I say and heave pulling down.
"You don't want to discuss it anymore? Wasn't it you who had called me to discuss something important with me and it was this isn't it ?" she mocks highlighting it in the air.
"I just don't want to discuss it anymore Divya, Please!" I retort, placing a glass of juice in front of her.
"Okay Fine"
Divya appeared to be irritated with me. I think she was right, what made me wait so long for him? I could have left earlier if I had already believed that he wasn't coming. But it was not about waiting, I would have waited longer if it was a formal meeting but it was a commitment, an informal one. No matter what, he should have at least informed me if he couldn't come, but he didn't, he even didn't answer my calls or reply to my messages and that annoyed me. How could a person be so insolent that he didn't even care to inform me, so impertinent that he didn't even pick my calls, didn't even answer my messages? At least he could have been a little courteous to get me informed. What does he think of himself? I just had to make him realize the importance of commitment.
But then why did I wait for him? What was I expecting?
I went to the office after that, he tried reaching me, he tried meeting me but neither did I pick his calls nor did I give him a single chance to come in front of me. I ignore him completely. He may be my Boss, the CEO of the company I was working with, but I was his employ at the office and whatever happened was all informal and I wasn't bound to listen to him unless and until it was official.
Later that evening when I was discussing something on the video call with Aarush. I could feel that his eyes were heavy and red as if he hadn't had a proper sleep the entire night. Also, he was trying to but failed to concentrate on the discussion, I wouldn't have disturbed him if it wasn't important.
"What happened, Aarush? You appear to be tired, is everything okay?" I ask when I see him dozing off.
"Ya! I'm really sorry Mish! I hope you won't mind if we do this later, actually I really really need a long nap, I'm very tired and I can't concentrate" he said closing the file.
"It's completely fine Aarush, we'll discuss it later, it's not that urgent, but why do you appear to be so worn off," I ask as I could see his eyes red.
