December 10th

Five days earlier...

"It's cool that your parents offered to run the coffeehouse for the day," Kyle said smiling at me.

I nodded. "I never get the day off anymore. It's really nice of them to take the day for me." Kyle and I were walking down the street, stopping at different restaurants to try different foods. I knew it wasn't Kyle's favorite thing to do, but we always stopped at Kyle's favorite restaurant as our last stop which made it worth the long trip to him.

"Thanks for coming, Kyle. I know you'd probably rather do something else besides walking around town with a loser like me."

"Tweek, you're not a loser. And besides, I get food out of it." Kyle patted his belly jokingly, making me giggle like a child.

"You're a dork, Kyle."

"I know it. By the way, did Stan make it home okay Sunday?"

"What do you mean?"

"About halfway through our double date, Wendy disappeared. I saw her later on hanging out with Stan by the old liquor store. Did he not tell you?"

I clenched my jaw, putting together a piece in my mind that should have been obvious. "I must have forgotten." I decided to keep what I had just learned to myself. He lied to me about where he was that night.

"So... Where do you want to stop first?" I plastered on a fake smile. "I heard City Wok has a meal deal tonight.

"Let's go there."

"Welcome home, hun. How was your trip with Kyle?"

I crossed my arms as I dropped my house keys in the bowl by the door. "Pretty fun. He told me something pretty interesting."

Stan looked up from his phone. "What'd he tell you? Is he finally making it official with Bebe?"

"No. He asked me if you got home safely on Sunday." I saw his expression change instantly, "He told me he saw you out with Wendy."

Stan blinked. "Fuck..."

I looked at Stan. "Why did you lie to me?"

"Does it really matter?" Stan said, standing up.

"Uh, yes. Do you know how suspicious that sounds?"

"I don't have to tell you shit, Tweek," Stan said, walking over in front of me.

"W-why are you acting like this?" I felt my anxiety start to kick in as Stan closed the gap between us. I stepped back and felt myself touch the wall behind me.

Stan got in my face, his hot breath sending a new wave of anxiety through my body. "You just accused me of something very bad. You better be ready for the consequences."
