(After Heroes of Olympus)
~Annabeth's POV~I grinned at the heap of demigod which had dropped through my first floor window.
"About time Seaweed Brain." I helped him up, kissing him on the cheek in greeting.
Percy smiled back. "It's been a while since I've come over to your dorm," he rubbed the back of his neck, "I think my place is more convenient."
I rolled my eyes. "Hey you were the one who wanted to see me. I've actually got work to do."
I looked pointedly at Percy, my hands on my hips. Percy didn't seem to notice, turning his attention to my crumpled bed in the corner, then to my neatly stacked shelves and cupboard which lined the wall opposite the window, before his eyes finally settled on the picture on my desk.
"Huh," Percy picked up the photo next to us, "I don't remember this. It's cute though."
I stared at the photo: it was Percy and I, arms around shoulders, and smiling like crazy with the cabins from camp in the background. That picture made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, I had only put it up recently, though the photo was from a while ago.
"Yeah. You were less annoying back then," I sighed, trying to hide my smile.
"Ha Ha." Percy replied dryly, "I'm the annoying one. Sure."
I frowned. "What are you saying?"
"Nothing." Percy shrugged his shoulders, trying to look innocent.
"What is it?" I pushed. "I know it's not nothing."
"Never mind. Just forget it." He put the picture back down on the desk, trying to change the subject. "So... How's school?"
"No," I wasn't letting him get away that easily. "What do you mean?"
Percy's eyebrows knitted together. "What?"
"You know what." I looked straight at him, unamused.
Percy sighed, "okay fine. It's just that... sometimes... you're annoying too."
My eyes narrowed. "Really, me? Annoying?"
"Yeah, it's the truth," he said calmly, so assured. "You can be annoying. Sometimes."
That's when I knew I was about to have some fun with this. I mean, me? Annoying?
Please.
"Well then... since I'm so annoying..." I moved closer to him. "I. Guess. You. Can. Go."
I let every word hang in the air, our faces were inches apart and I could feel Percy's breath on my face. Behind his gorgeous green eyes, I could tell he was struggling to figure out what to say next.
To be honest, I did want to kiss him real bad. But I kept my expression steely.
Because why not? He was my boyfriend, he should have known what he signed up for. Especially when he's accused me of being annoying.
I raised my eyebrows and gestured towards the window behind him. "Well? Go on." I made sure my voice was calm and even, exactly like when I was really mad.
Percy stayed silent. He pursed his lips and I could see the panic in his eyes, which screamed Uh Oh!
"Go. On." I looked him in the eye, challenging him, pushing him to say something.
Percy's gaze drifted to the whitewashed walls, he rubbed the back of his neck. "Um...uh..."
"Um! Uh?" I mocked Percy, showing fake frustration. "So? Go. Since I'm so annoying?"
