You had to be there

"Everything has changed......." the song stops and I end my dance with a pirouette. Before I can leave the dance floor I hear applause. I turn to see Madison, Amanda,Thomas,and Dylan my 3 best friends. "That was great Avery!" Amanda exclaims with a huge smile on her face.

"Thanks! Where's Cameron?" I ask while glancing around the room. Cameron Is my big brother. And before I can say anything else my feet are lifted off the ground, and I start spinning.

"Cam what are you doing?" I say with a laugh.

"That was awesome sis!" Cameron is still swinging me around and laughing then eventually he lets me down."Thanks! Do you think mom and dad will come to my addition this weekend?"

I'm super excited because this weekend I have an audition to get into a competitive dance studio called 'The big apple dancers' it's called that because we live in New York. Madison and Amanda are on the team already and I'm hoping I can soon join them.

"Ave you know how they are, but they're missing out on a lot you're doing great!"says Cam with a sad smile. My mom and dad are both lawyers so they're always working and traveling for business.I don't even want to talk about my parents so I just hug Cameron and walk to the change room with the girls while the boys go to Starbucks.Right now we are at the dance studio for younger kids, because since I'm not a 'Big Apple dancer' yet I'm not allowed to dance at that studio.

Amanda and Madison were dancing in another part of the studio, because they wanted me to have some 'alone time' to concentrate on my audition dance.

Soon as I get into the change room I peel off my sweaty black spandex shorts and oversized red T-shirt. I kick off my my worn-out jazz shoes and hop into the shower.The other girls do the same. I wash my body and hair with strawberry scented shampoo and shower gel. When I'm done I wrap myself in a big white soft towel and step out of the shower. I walk over to my duffel bag and pullout black leggings, a baby blue T-shirt,and a black cardigan. I French braid my hair,and apply concealer and mascara for makeup. I slip on my black converse and put my things in my bag then pull out my iPhone and start to play candy crush, waiting for the other girls to get out of the shower. Man they take a long time.

"You girls done yet?"I yell while keeping my eyes on the screen.

and with that Amanda walks out wrapped in a white towel just like I did, and changes into gray leggings and a Purple oversized T-shirt that says'Big Apple dancer' on it. She ponytails her hair . I sigh at the sight of her shirt, she smiles and says "don't worry Ave you'll have one of the shirts before you know it"

I smile and go back to my game as we wait for Madison.

About 15 minutes later Maddie walks out wrapped in a towel and exchanges is it for galaxy leggings and a white lacey tank top.

After that she puts her hair in a bun and adds a purple headband.

We leave the change room and find the boys sitting on the dance floor eating muffins and drinking tea from Starbucks. Cameron hands me my favorite Earl Grey tea. I thank him for it and take long sips.

"You girls take way too long" Thomas says with his mouth full of muffin.

"Yeah well I took 15 minutes and I just waited for Amanda and Maddie to come out.

"Sure whatever you say Ave" Cam smiles taking another bite of his muffin.

Then we all stay in the dance studio as we finish our muffins and tea.
