You had to be there

She says thank you

The song ends and so does my dance. I look at Pace who's smiling like and idiot, then at Camron. He, he's crying. Forgetting about everyone else I run over to Camron and hug him. I can't help but cry myself. Not having my mom and dad here makes this whole experience even harder. But like Cam said we don't need them. Everyone starts cheering and I want to say thank you but I don't want to show the dancers my red wet face. "She says thank you". Camron tells the crowd and reading my mind. The people cheer and the coach calls the next dancer. My face is still buried in Carmon's chest, but he lets me stay frozen for as long as I want.

Finally the coaches say that they need some time to discuss who's made the cut. Which might take an hour or two. "Ave you did great! Okay everyone knows it!" Cam says still hugging me.

"Thank you Cam" I say tears still in my eyes. "Your amazing. Now go get cleaned up before the big announcement. Okay?"

"Alright" we pull apart and I walk to the change room to shower.

When I get there I soon realize that I left my bag back on the bench where Cam was sitting. So I sprint over to the bench. When I get there Camron talking with some guy. He looks to be around Carmon's age, he looks at me and smiles. "You're Avery Ives right?" "Yes,yes I am" I grab my duffle bag and start walking back to the change room, but Camron stops me "Ave this is Jacob, he's Paces brother". I turn around and smile, "nice to meet you" and with that I walk back to the change room.

When I get into the change room I take off my sweat soaked cloths and jump in the shower. I was my hair and body with my usual strawberry shampoo and shower gel. After I'm all dried off I brush my hair then re-french braid it. I apply some mascara and light eye shadow. And for my outfit I put on a pair of grey leggings, black converse and a red plaid shirt. After I'm done I gather all my things in my bag, grab my phone and leave the change room to get some food.

When I'm at the canteen I order a bagel for myself and a piece of pizza for Camron. I give Cam his pizza and he just goes back to talking to Jacob. So I walk to the other side of the studio and eat my bagel. After a while I end up talking with a few girls that are already on the team. Baylee and Halee. They tell me about what to expect, as well as where dance competition are held.

All of a sudden I hear music. I lift my head up and see Pace dancing to 'Clarity' I love that song. When she's done dancing one of the coaches walks over to her and says something that makes her face light up. And I know exactly what, she's on the team. She starts screaming and her brother Jacob picks her up and starts screaming with her.

"Congratulations Pace!" I yell but knowing she won't hear me over the screams.

After Pace and Jacob are done freaking she leaves to shower.

About 20 minuets later Pace comes out of the change room wearing grey leggings and a pink sports bra. She leaves again and later comes back with a bagel, two hot dogs ,and a Pepsi. She and her brother start eating their lunch.

I see Pace looking at me and I smile at her, she smiles back and takes another bite of her bagel.

"Alright" begins the dance coach "time to fined out the results".

Here I go as ready as I'll ever be.
