Gladio woke up the moment you clung to his body after waking up from a nightmare. Turning on his side and placing a hand on your damped cheek, he asked groggily. "(y/n), are you alright?"

"Nightmare..." you mumbled, burying your face on his chest as you sobbed, still shaken up from your bad dream.

"Shh... it's okay, princess. It was just a nightmare." He tried to comfort you, enveloping you in his strong and loving arms.

"It felt so real," you whimpered, sniffling.

"I know, but it's not real. You're safe, now." He stroked your hair soothingly. "Do you want to talk about it?"

You nodded and nuzzled into his broad chest, damping the fabric of his white sleeveless shirt with your tears.

"I dreamed you died protecting me." You clung to him even more, gripping his shirt tight. "I don't want you to die on me, Gladio." You protested.

"I won't, princess. And I won't let you die either."

His sonorous, reassuring voice and his gentle touch were gradually calming you down.

"We'll protect each other, right?" You queried.

"Always. I got your back and you got mine." He held you close, giving your head a sweet peck.

You nodded in response, inhaling his manly scent while revelling into the warmth radiating off his muscular body.

"Now, try to get some rest. I'll make sure you don't have any more nightmares," he stated, rubbing your back gently with his hand.

"Thank you, Gladdy," you gazed up at him and pressed your lips to his in a fleeting kiss.

"I love you, princess." He smiled warmly at you, returning the kiss.

"I love you, too, Gladio." You gave him a faint smile before closing your eyes, hoping to fall asleep soon because you knew he was not going to sleep until he was completely sure you would not have any more bad dreams.
