"Can't fall asleep?" Noctis inquired as he walked leisurely towards you.

"No," you answered, turning your head to look up at him.

"Can I keep you company for a while?"

"Sure."

Noctis lay down on the blanket next to you and stared up at the night sky. The view of the glimmering stars was breathtaking and he was enthralled by their beauty.

"You can see them so clearly from here," he whispered, amazed.

You hummed in agreement and glanced at him again. "Why aren't you sleeping?"

"I'm not tired," he shrugged, trying to play it cool.

"Really, now? The sleeping beauty is suddenly not feeling sleepy? That's unusual." You teased, smirking.

"I just had a nightmare, alright?" He huffed, mildly annoyed at your playfulness.

"Wanna talk about it?" The concern was evident in your gorgeous orbs.

"I guess I should..." There was a momentary silence before he finally spoke up and the two of you were able to listen to the familiar sounds of the wild, nocturnal creatures lurking into the night. "I dreamed I was not able to protect the people I love," he started, feeling a lump in his throat. "And so I lost all of you... I was left all alone..."

You turned on your side to have a better view of Noctis' face and placed your hand on top of his, giving it a comforting squeeze. "We're all here to protect each other, Noct. You're not in this alone. And we would never leave your side. Ever." You smiled gently at him.

"I know... but it felt so real." He stared at you with anguished eyes.

"It was not real. You're stuck with the four of us forever. Like it or not." You giggled lightly, squeezing his hand in an assuring manner.

"Well, I wouldn't mind that if that meant that I would get to be by your side forever," he admitted sheepishly as a small grin crept across his handsome face.

"Aren't you a cheesy one?" You teased again.

"Hey, I mean it," he grumbled, cheeks dusting a soft shade of pink.

"I know. I'd love that too," you stated, resting your head on his chest.

"Why can't you sleep, (y/n)?" He inquired curiously.

"My mind just won't shut up." You placed one of your hands on his chest.

"Why not?" He asked, wrapping his arms around you.

You sighed deeply before replying. "To be honest, the same things that make you all worried keep me up at night, sometimes. And tonight, it's one of those nights." You began doodling random figures on his chest with your index finger.

"As you just said, we're all in this together. We'll work it out, somehow." His tone was reassuring and soothing.

"Yeah, we will," you smiled, snuggling closer to him.
