Chapter 5: Time Skip

It's been a year since I've joined the gang, and I'm close to everyone except Sean. Nebaka who I prefer to call Neba, likes to follow people around giving them a hard time and listening in on other people's conversations. Inema loves drawing and can draw pretty much everything down to the last detail, she also somehow knows everything that goes on around our hideout. Lukeno is just perfect, he likes drawing, writing, cooking, and more. Lukeno is also my first crush, but I think it's much more than just a crush.

"Hey Kat, what's up?"

Sean asked me, making me roll my eyes as I pretended to not hear him. I walked over towards Inema and sat down next to her.

"Hey Inema, what're you drawing?"

I asked her with a small smirk, pretending to not notice her blushing. When she showed me what she was drawing, it made me blush. She drew me and Lukeno together sitting in a tree.

"I-Inema! H-ow did you know that I l-like Lukeno?!"

I whisper yelled, because he was only a few feet away.

"It's obvious, I can tell by the way you look at Lukeno when he is looking away."

Inema said, just quiet enough for nobody else to here. Since Neba had just walked in and was trying to eavesdrop on us, like always.

"Has he noticed?"

I asked, sulking as my one-sided crush looks over. Seeing Inema shake her head made me pout, I really wanted him to notice me.

"Oh hey Lukeno, Katherine wanted to ask you something!"

She called to Lukeno, he gave me a questioning look as I sent a quick glare at Inema. Lukeno held up his notebook which he had written 'Come on over and ask me then' on a page, sighing I gave Inema another glare then walked over towards Lukeno.

"Can we talk somewhere else, where nobody can listen in?"

I asked nervously looking at Neba, and Lukeno nodded as he led us into his room.

"Um... I know we don't talk much, but I just wanted to tell you that I um... IHAVEAHUGECRUSHONYOUANDIWANTTOASKYOUOUTBUTIDON'TKNOWHOWI SHOULDTELLYOU!!!"

I said really quickly, freezing as I had finished talking because I had just realized what I said. I looked at Lukeno and saw that he was laughing to himself.

"Cute,"

I heard him say softly with a small smile, I looked at him in surprise. Realizing that I must've heard him, Lukeno blushed slightly and motioned me to move closer.

"Before I ask you out, you should know that I'm not actually mute. I just never spoke, mostly because of my foster parents hurting me every time that I did."

Lukeno explained hugging me tightly, and I nodded as I listened to his soft voice.

"Wait, you understood my speed-talking?"

I asked pulling away slightly, realizing that Lukeno said he would ask me out, and my face turned a bright shade of red as I saw him nod.

"Every word of it, and you should know that I like you too."

Lukeno whispered in my ear before letting me go, making me blush even more as my brain processed his words.

"Does this mean that we are official?"

I asked him, and he shook his head slightly before pulling me into a kiss.

"Now we are official."

Lukeno said softly, as we heard the door creak. I blushed madly thinking that it was Neba or Inema spying on us. The door opened to reveal Sean standing there with his hand over his mouth.
