Chapter 6: Father!?

"I definitely wasn't expecting that, the mute not only talking but also getting a girl before Nebaka."

Sean said with a low whistle, as he was looking at me. Feeling uncomfortable, I shifted under his gaze as Lukeno pulled me closer to him.

"Hey Kat, there's someone at the door asking for you... Whoa so short-stack does have a girl he likes!"

Nebaka came into the room yelling, with Inema following not far behind. They both looked at me as I shifted closer to Lukeno, not liking the amount of attention I was getting.

"Guys can you not stare at me like that?"

I asked, but unfortunately they either hear or they didn't listen. I sighed and looked at Lukeno for help, and saw him hold up his notebook. He had written 'Don't stare at Kat like that. You're all making her uncomfortable!' on it.

"Thanks Lukeno,"

I whispered softly, as they all looked away from me. Then I heard Sean clear his throat to get everyone's attention.

"Ahem, Nebaka said something about a person at the door?"

He reminded everyone, making me nod slightly as Inema started looking for a page in her sketchbook.

"Right, he was asking about a girl named Katherine. When I asked what she looked like, he showed me a photo of a girl that looks exactly like Kat."

Neba replied, causing my body to shake uncontrollably. I shook my head no repeatedly, while holding onto Lukeno.

"No, not him. Anyone but him, please don't  make me go back to him. Lukeno, don't let him separate us."

I cried, breaking down completely.

"Who is 'him'?"

Inema asked, as she came back up. I heard a pair of footsteps following her, making me freeze.

"Father..."

I said, my eyes widening as I saw that it was indeed him that was following Inema. It was my father, he had found me.

"Katherine, I've come to take you back home."

My father said, and everything went dark.
