There  was  silence.

Vanya  had her mouth  agape and actually  was trying to  avoid looking at  Five.

She catched  on quickly and  said, "I think I'm gonna go grab dinner, be right... back."

Vanya  quickly  walked  towards the door and  left.

"I  didn't think you had the  audacity to ask that when you know the answer! What's my problem? You're my problem! You left me for a year and send me mixed  signals to my  already stirred  up feelings! Who  are you to poke on someone else's feelings?! I'm exhausted, Five!" You screamed  and your tears  were  already dripping down your eyes.

"You were always like that. Ever since we  were kids. You would always make  choices without  telling  me! You  like acting  on your own. Hell,  you don't even tell me anything! Everytime I  ask you  would avoid  or redirect me towards something  else. Now this?  You were gone for  almost  2 years just kill people!"  You yelled  at  the door.

"You don't  know  the  half  of it, Y/N.  I  had  to do  that  so  we could go back. The Handler offered  an  opportunity  and that  was the only way  out  of that  hellhole.  Y/N, after  that  day you had access to everything!" Five said  with authority.

"That I never asked for!  I  had everything  but I was alone! Everyone made me feel that I was some sort of mistake. That I'm not supposed to  be  alive.  I needed you,  Five. All I asked  was  for  you  to be there  and  you weren't!"

"But I did it for you." He replied softly.

You stopped functioning for a moment. You just  stood there by door, flustered.

"She spared you from the apocalypse in exchange for my service. People wanted you dead. You were considered as a correction. And as someone from the removal  division, I would always prevent that from happening."

Your chest felt a pang and suddenly  your body just felt heavy.  Your legs wobbled  and  you collapsed on the floor. Everything went dark.

"Y/N! What happened?!"

You didn't respond but you were lying down the floor, crying.

You cried silently. You concealed your sobs  by covering your mouth. Obviously you had your own emotional bank towards Five and right now you thought that you shouldn't have followed him in the future.

It's painful to love someone like Five.

He was hard to love.

And once again you cried and wailed. Your hands were on  your chest and tried  to push the chest pain away.

"Y/N, I'm not leaving until you open this door."

Five was persistent on not leaving  so he stayed on guard  beside  the  door.  You kept on  crying silently as  you  peeked through the  gap  between  the door and the  floor.  You saw him sat down and heard the door  rustle when he leaned  his back  against  it.

Why were you so affected?

Why does it hurt?

To be honest, when something drastic happened  to you, you would have hallucinations. You claim to see the dead  and they were calling out for your help.  It  was  always like that. When you fainted,  when you woke up in 1970, and now.

Seeing and living in the apocalypse  traumatized you. Before, you had to  pass by thousand of dead people and two of them were your parents.

Vanya returns home with Five sleeping  beside the door with a blanket on.  He slept deeply. From all the fatigue and stress, he was able to rest just because you didn't open the bedroom door.

Vanya placed the paper bags of food on the table. These rustled  loud enough for Five to jolt and wake up.

Five looked at Vanya and she said, "Oh, hey. Dinner's here, I  guess."

The boy made a deep sigh and stood up. He gently placed the blanket on the table.

"How'd it go?" Vanya softly said, not  breaking eye contact with the food.

"It went naturally unwell." He replied as he nodded his head with disappointment.

"What  she said isn't true, right?"

"What? That I became a hitman and ended up killing hundreds of  people? Nope. Not  true at all." Five answered sarcastically  as he noticed the  pot  of  coffee sitting on the coffee  maker.

"Five, I'm being serious. How  could you kill  someone?"  Vanya  asked  with a  confused  tone.

"Vanya,  if  you  were  in my  place you're going to do the same." Five said  as  he poured  himself a  cup  of coffee.

"I don't  even  know if I'm gonna believe  what  you said about the apocalypse. To be  honest, your  stories  don't add  up. You come home  saying the future's messed up and  now you're telling me that you were  a hitman? Does that makes  sense to  you?"

Five wasn't  facing Vanya, he was staring at  his cup of coffee. When he  tasted  it.. it tasted familiar. He shook his head and faced Vanya once again.

"Why do I even bother?"  Five replied, took another sip, placed down coffee, and started walking towards  the door.

"I'll be back  by evening.  Don't  look for me. Thanks for  the coffee and the blanket."

As  Five  was about to  reach for the door knob, Vanya spoke, "I  didn't give you that blanket and I know I'm  pretty sure that the  coffee was not made by me."

Five returned to the table  and held  the blanket. Carefully examining  it.

"The pot  was  empty before you came in  here."

Five only thought one scenario.

He disappeared  while the blanket dropped to  the floor.

"Okay, weird." Vanya  commented.

Suddenly,  the door  to Vanya's bedroom opened.

Vanya smiled and said, "You can come  out now, Five's gone."

She approached  the bedroom  and peeked, only to  find a  familiar boy inside.

He turned around and said, "Y/N's gone."
