As planned, Hazel and Cha-cha appeared to the meeting place. Hopeful that they'll get their hands on the briefcase.
You were inside the car while Five and Luther talked to them. You peeked from your seat and your heart skipped a beat from what was happening.
Cha-cha looked like she dialled a number at a phone booth that was nearby.
You sat back, nervous.
It was only a few days until the so-called apocalypse and Five could be cold sometimes, but not cold enough to see the end of everything.
Lost in your own thoughts, a sound brought you back to reality.
From a distance you could see something approaching.
You stepped out of the car and called Five softly. After he turned around you pointed to the object approaching.
"Is that a... an ice cream truck?"
This alerted both parties and the masked men immediately thought it was a set up so they fired their guns at Five, Luther, and you.
Luther quickly went in front of you and spread his arms wide and you hid behind him with you hands covering your ears.
That's the last thing you remember and then Five grabbed your arm and pulled you towards the Handler.
"Five, what is happening?"
You looked around and noticed that the time stopped.
"Do we have a deal once again?" the Handler stretched out her arm for a handshake. She formed her lips into a smile of evil.
You looked at Five, confused. He looked at you with eyes of defeat.
He held your hand and shook the Handler's hand.
—
You stood in front of your suite door with Five.
Both of you were silent.
"You can ask." Five said.
"Why are we here again?"
"The Handler offered me a job."
You looked horribly at Five, the image of him killing people again flashed in your mind.
"No, I won't be in the correctional division anymore. Atleast that's what the Handler said."
He made a deep sigh. "In return for your life again."
"Why didn't you just left me back in the academy?"
"You're much safer this way." He said. "I'll go home here since I won't be dispatched anywhere anymore."
You stayed silent.
"You go in first, I have to meet with the Handler."
Five turned his back.
"Wait." You were shocked that it came out of your mouth. He turned to face you.
Suddenly you felt you body move on your own. You walked towards Five and you wrapped your arms around him.
Five didn't know how to respond but he also hugged you back.
"You must be excited to go home." He said.
You slowly broke out of the hug and looked at him.
"What?"
"I'll make sure to bring you back before the apocalypse comes. Now, go inside and get some rest. I'll be back in the evening."
Five left. You went inside the room. It was the exact same room but of course everything else was clean.
The memory of Connor dying in that room couldn't bother you for the moment because of what Five said.
After taking a bath and dressing your wounds once again, you quickly went to bed. Since the commission has no need of you anymore, you're just simply locked up in the room. They didn't expect you to come back as a child so the clothes you left were still in there. You wore a night gown that was oversized for you.
It was already evening and the doorbell rang.
"A doorbell???" You thought it was weird to have a doorbell installed to the room but you ran to the door anyway.
"Five?"
It wasn't Five. It was the "room service" bringing food.
"Thank you." You said and that person left.
You approached the food sitting by the table and opened it. "For one?" You noticed the food serving to be only for one.
And by that, you already thought that Five might not come home tonight. You sat in front of your food gazing down on your plate. Your eyes wandered as you left a deep sigh. "I'm tired."
Not because of exhaustion, but apparently, you're tired of everything. It's the intangible feeling of exhaustion that's bothering you. You wanted to rest. You want to be at peace. You want silence.
You want to leave Five.
A tear fell down your cheek as you stared at the glass of water in front of you.
No one wanted all of this to happen. Not you. Not Five. Nor the Hargreeves. But only if you could leave the situation, you would.
You want to, but why is there this lingering feeling inside of you that you shouldn't leave Five?
As much as you're tired, he must've been tired too.
In the middle of your silent gasps and cries, the front door swung open and Five entered the room.
"Y/N?" he called as he placed a frown on his face.
"I-I'm taking a shower!" You yelled while being under the cold shower. You stood there and your tears continued to stream together with the water. You shivered under you breath and turned off the shower.
You changed your clothes once again and greeted him in the bedroom.
"What's up?"
"Well, it was kinda boring but I guess it's a lot better than killing people, right?" He said, humorously.
"I guess.." You smiled at him but to only satisfy his joke. "Did you have dinner?" You pointed at the meal. He shook his head, sat down, and ate his dinner.
You covered yourself under the blankets as you lied down the bed. "Getting in early?"
"Yeah, I'm a little tired.. You can sleep beside me after you eat.." You said. "Only if you want to."
Five left a soft chuckle and went towards you. "Come up for a while."
You did as told like a child getting a candy. He gave you a peck on the lips and patted your head, "Good night."
I'll miss it.. You thought.
