You woke up to the warm sunlight. You breathed in and out. You got up and went to the bathroom. You splashed water on your face and sighed. After that, you grabbed the face towel that was hanging beside the sink.

A buzzing sound went on and you looked up.

The lights, they were flickering but you didn't mind it.

You turned on the shower and took a quick bath. You opened a closet that revealed a lot of clothes to choose from.

After changing into your usual you looked at yourself at the mirror.

"Everything's perfect!" You thought and smiled.

"Everything is... perfect?" You asked yourself.

You quickly turned your head and looked at the surroundings. Everything was.. normal. Normal normal. Non-apocalyptic.

"What the-?!"

Electricity, food, and water. All the thibgs you struggled to have is now before your very eyes.

You ran to the window and pulled the curtains aside.

.
.
.

There were people outside.

But then, the voices that once haunted you are back once again.

"Five!!!"

--

"What happened?!" Five asked as he quickly ran beside you on the corner of the room.

The room had a lot of people in it. 7 women and 5 men.

Scared, crying, and covered in sweat, Five held you.

"She's been yelling for you non-stop. We wanted to help her but she kept on yelling for you." A woman said.

"You may leave." Five said.

The people left and closed the door behind them.

"Y/N.."

You slowly raised your head and saw Five's face. You embraced him tightly and sobbed.

"The voices are back.. Five.. They're haunting me. I'm seeing dead people.."

Five sighed, "They're not dead, Y/N. This.. All of this is real. You're not seeing things. This is real as we speak."

Your eyes was locked on his, confused. "Are you saying you.."

"Yes! I - uh - I was able to jump.. backwards." He said. His voice toned down everytime he progressed with his sentence.

"But I jumped too far backwards, Y/N. We're still not on the right timeline." Five confessed, holding your hands as you sat on the floor and he knelt in front of you.

"I.. I just.. felt scared. It's been a long since I saw a bunch of people. Last time I saw them they were under a pile of debris." You said as your tears streamed once again.

"Seeing people is overwhelming you know?" You said jokingly.

Five sighed once again. "As I said, I jumped too far backwards... but I found someone who could help us go back to the right and exact timeline but it comes with a condition."

--

"Good night" Y/N said.

"Good night." Five replied. Five watched you walk away. By the time you were gone Five was putting out the pit of fire he made.

He reached for the bag of knives that now belonged to you. Though he opened it, took one and...

"Easy, Five." Said a voice after Five threw the knife at the direction the voice came from.

Five turned around and pulled out his pistol, "Who the fuck are you?"

From the darkness emerged a middle-aged blonde lady. She was carrying a breifcase.

"I go by The Handler." The woman said as she raised both of her eyebrows and smiled. "I've been keeping an eye on you Five. I was not supposed to fetch you until you're 55. Unfortunately, some drastic changes to the timeline were made. A very naughty little girl who kept following you around and compromised the timeline."

Five lowered his gun a little but raised it back again. "What the fuck do you want, lady?"

"I came here to help you, Five. I'll take you back to your family but it comes with a condition ofcourse." The Handler said as she walked towards Five.

--

"What?" You asked as Five seemed to space out.

Five shook his head and looked at you once again. "We work for 3 years and once the contract is finished, we can go back. The thing is she wants us to work seperately."

"What?! Why?" You asked.

"Y/N, I guess that's the best thing for now. This room..is our room. We're going to live together in his suite that the Handler offered."

"Who's the Handler?!" You asked while you accidentally hit Five's arm.

He hissed in pain while you gasped afterwards. "What happened to your arm?!"

"Y/N, no more questions for now. Remember, our goal is to finish the contract. Whatever they request us to do.. just do it."

For the following days, the Commision let you adjust to the environment. You were in quite a shock so you spent your time doing things liesurely.

You didn't have to worry about the food and water the next day anymore. You didn't have to worry about your safety. You didn't have to be scared anymore.

But all of this is in exchange for Five. You're going to start working tomorrow but you haven't seen him since he asked you to cooperate.

Five has been the source of your strength and courage. He was there when the world had nothing to offer anymore. He went through the apocalypse with you. Both of you shared the same pain of losing your families. Both of you smiled together through the pain.

You learned things through each other.

Now this world have everything but Five wasn't there.

"I wish I told him what I really felt."
