Chapter Sixteen

Roxy’s POV

That can’t be. He’s supposed to be in America! Two familiar, warm, large hands closed around my eyes and I gasped. “Guess who?” The deep voice whispered by my ear. I tried pulling the hands away from my eyes, but whoever the person was firmly stood his ground. “Hunter...” I whispered, shocked. “BINGO!” He shouted and laughed and removed his hands. I whipped around and my jaw dropped open. It really was him, standing there with that goddamn smirk on his face in all his muscled glory. “What the hell are you doing here?” I gaped at him. “Ehhh, I missed you! Why else?” He pouted exaggeratedly.”Get that ridiculous pout off your face! What about school?” I mock-glared at him. “I transferred here.” He gave me a huge smile and I sighed. “You just dropped everything and transferred here?” I raised my eyebrow. “I was so worried about you I couldn’t focus on anything, so I decided to come here.” He flashed me an innocent smile. I knew he was here because of something related to the gang and was hiding it but I just couldn’t get angry with him having his puppy dog look on.

I sighed again then slowly got up. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about this, don’t kill me!” Hunter raised his hands up defensively. “You IDIOT!” I yelled and pounced onto him, wrapping my legs around his waist and cuddling him like he was a teddy bear while ruffling his chocolate brown hair. “I missed you too, but you should have asked me before you decided to move.” I mumbled into his shoulder. “AW, you missed me?” Hunter hugged me tightly. “Um, hello. Totally missing the point here.” I rolled my eyes even though he couldn’t see. Then I noticed the two guys standing behind Hunter. “Hey? Who are you?” I stared at them.

“Finally noticed us huh? I’m Lukas.” The guy on the left with auburn hair smiled. “I’m Adrian.” The other guy with dark blonde hair and brown highlights said with a grin. They were both muscular and tall, not to mention to mention Adrian totally had the ‘charming, handsome rake’ thing going on and Lukas looked like he just walked off a runway. “Hey hey, stop checking my dudes out. I’m way hotter.” Hunter said teasingly. “Your dudes? I never knew you were into threesomes.” I smirked. Hunter was hot though, not that I’d remind him. His ego was way too big already. “Woah, she’s good.” Adrian laughed. “More importantly. A threesome with this guy? So not happening.” Lukas said. “Ahah! So you’re saying that you’re into threesomes?” I grinned mischievously. “Maybe if you join.” Lukas winked. “Haha, sorry, but I’ll have to decline that offer, your not my type.” I quipped. “Burn!” Hunter laughed loudly. “But you ever want me, I’ll be waiting for you.” Lukas chuckled. “Clutching on straws eh, Lukas?” Adrian grinned.

“But threesomes aside, those guys over at that table have been staring at us since we came in.” Hunter angled his head. I looked to where he was indicating, and quite unsurprisingly, it was the Mortem Dracones gang. “Are they the dangerous, famous gang that I’ve heard so much about?” Hunter asked. Dangerous? Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. “You’re here because Leo sent you,” I accused softly, so the others wouldn’t hear. “No, I’m here because I’m  missed you and I’m worried about you.” Hunter frowned. “In other words, you’re here to ‘protect’ me.” I glared at him. “No, I’m here to make sure that nobody hurts my beautiful, innocent best friend.” He answered. “I can protect myself. I don’t need you or anyone else. You even dragged your friends here.” I said angrily. “They volunteered. Maybe you can protect yourself physically, but I’m here to make sure no bastards dare to come near you.” He glared at Alexander’s table. “What did you hear?” I gripped onto his arm tightly. Could Nathaniel have somehow told Leo about Alexander? “So something has already happened? See, that’s why I’m here.” He removed my hand forcefully. “NO! Nothing happened.” I said, hissing in annoyance. “Forget it. I don’t want to talk about it.” I spun around and walked out of the dining room angrily.

Hunter’s POV

I ran a hand through my hair frustratedly. I knew Roxy was pissed at us coming here under Leo’s orders,  but I had to follow them! And after finding out that those damn Dracones were here too, no way was I going to let her out of my sight like that. I didn't follow after her, knowing that she wanted some time to cool off. I glanced at one of the guys, who had stood up to follow Roxy, and I glared at him, about to protest when I realised that he was one of the guys from Cain's gang. I tilted my head slightly to look at the other gang. One of them had disappeared mysteriously, and I narrowed my eyes, wondering where he had gone.

Roxy's POV

I stormed out to the school carpark angrily. It was infuriating how they treat me like a little girl, they knew very well how strong I was. Fishing out Nate's bike's keys I threw my leg over the bike and jammed the keys in roughly. Then suddenly the bike sank with the weight of a person sitting down behind me and two large hands closed around my waist. "Woah there, don't want my baby getting hurt, do we?" Then a long, leather covered arm reached past me and pulled the keys out. "What the hell!" I whipped around angrily. "Oh. It's you." I sighed and turned back. "Yes its me." Nate chuckled. "Did you think I was going to let you run off by yourself again? And furthermore, with my baby?" He ran over the leather handles of the bike lovingly. I rolled my eyes, figuring a guy wouldn't let a girl go off with his precious engine all by herself.

He startled me when he swung onto the bike himself, forcing me to scoot back.'"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" I thumped my fists on his back. He inserted the key and turned it, causing the bike to roar underneath. "You want to skip or not?" He turned to look at me, his dark eyes glinting with mischief. I felt myself turn red, and looked away. "Fine," I mumbled, shifting in the seat so I felt more comfortable. After a few seconds, I realised Nathaniel was still waiting for me. "What are you waiting for?" I tilted my head, confused. He chuckled. "Do you really want to fall off and have Cain hang my head on his wall?" I scoffed indignantly. I could so hang on without needing his he-

"Woah!" I shrieked when the bike suddenly jerked forward, wrapping my arms around Nate's waist tightly. I felt him laugh, and I groaned softly under my breath. "I hate you," I muttered, and heard him laugh again. "Love you too," He replied, before the bike roared and we zoomed off, not realising that someone had been watching us the whole time.

Unknown POV

Shoving my hands in my pockets, I trailed after one of Ashton's members, the only one that we allowed in the school. The new guys that just transferred looked familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I was going to have to ask Viktor and Zayn to check later on. The guy walked out of the school, and I walked behind him quietly. Where was he going?

I followed his gaze, and saw that he was looking at Roxalie, the girl who had stormed out earlier, sitting on his bike and staring into space. He strolled towards her, and I hid in the shadows, leaning against the side of someone's SUV as I watched their exchange. She was apparently still in a bad mood, as she was scowling when he approached her, only to have her sigh and turn back around. His arm was still around her waist, and I strangely wanted to stalk over to them and rip his arm off. But why would I? She was just some other slut, I thought, scowling.

Hearing a shriek, my eyes snapped towards the two of them, Roxalie scowling playfully and the guy laughing. My eyes narrowed at the two of them, and I felt my fists clench at the sight of them together. Then my eyes widened in. What the fuck? I shook my head, running a hand through my hair as I scowled at the ground. What the fuck was happening to me? I stalked back into the school as they zoomed off, already in a very bad mood.
