Later That Night
After the game the team decided to go out and celebrate the win. It has been fun being able to meet Adam's teammates and thankfully I've been able to avoid Dansby for now. And by avoid I mean I have been able to enjoy my night without having to talk to him, I haven't been able to avoid keeping my eyes off of him or noticing that he's been glancing at me. And of course he's on the dance floor with some brunette dancing away. "Day, Day, Dayla!"I turned around to see Adam standing behind me with two other guys. "Hey sorry, I was spacing. What's up?"
"I want to introduce you some of my teammates. This is Nick Markakis, and this is Charlie Culberson." Adam said introducing the two guys standing next to him. I shook their hands just as another guy came up and wrapped an arm around Charlie and Adam's neck. Suddenly I feel every muscle in my body freeze. "Oh yeah sorry I forgot you like to be included in everything. Day this is Dansby."
I inhale quietly before looking at him. "Hi, nice to meet you." I watch as he smirks. "Adam I'm going to go and get some air."
I quickly walk past the four of them and head to the outside area of the club. I sit my drink down before running my hand threw my hair. That's when I felt a presence standing next to me. I sigh as I glance over to see who is standing next to me. "Don't you have some desperate brunette whose probably waiting for you on the dance floor or something?"
I watch as he smiles before taking a drink of his beer. "I'm not all that into brunettes. I was actually on my way over to talk to someone else when she stopped me and wanted to dance."
"Right." I rolled my eyes before turning my attention back to the view.
"So how do you know Adam?" I glance over to see that he is now leaning by the railing looking at me. "Friend, ex boyfriend, lover.."
"He's my brother." I quickly step in before he could continue to list what he thought Adam was. A surprised look crossed his face.
"Brother really? Didn't expect that one." He replied turning around so he was facing the railing the same way I was. "Especially since you guys have different last names. Are you married or something?"
"No I'm not married." I quietly reply. "Look Dansby its complicated."
"Tell me, I have plenty of time." Dansby replies as he takes another sip of his drink before looking at me.
"Adam is my half brother. Him, Will, and myself all have the same mom. My mom had him when she was in college married his dad after a few years they got divorced." I explained.
"That makes more sense now." he replies. "So when you told me that you have two brothers who play baseball you are told me that you had two brothers who play baseball you meant Adam and Will." I shake my head while he gives me a confused look.
"Adam plays baseball he's the oldest. Will he's the youngest and my only full brother. He is apart of a catering business." I start. "Look this is where it's going to get complicated and confusing so stop me if you need to. My other half siblings are Kris Bryant and Brock Osweiler. Kris, Brock, Will, and I have the same dad. My dad met Brock's mom when he was in high school in Idaho. She was a senior when she had him. They brook up when my dad went to Las Vegas for college, Brock took his mom's last before she married. My dad met Kris's mom when in college. She had him their third year in college together. When they broke up my dad met my mom and married her. Kris ended up taking his mom's husband's name when she married."
"That sounds like it was hard trying to build any connection with them." Dansby added as his focus was completely on me.
"I mean it was hard growing up in different states but everytime we had time off from school we were together. We talked all the time when we weren't together. Heck over the years it feels like I've gained brothers because of them." I added as he gave me another confused look. "For example Kris grew up with Bryce Harper. Bryce is pretty much a brother to me, and because of him Trea Turner has become a brother to me. And when Adam was playing baseball in Cincinati he became really good friends with Scooter Gennett and in turns Scooter's become another brother to me."
"So does that mean now that Adam is in Atlanta you're going to grow close to who ever he does? And only see them as a brother, or are you going to be willing to maybe see them as something more?" Dansby asked before taking a few steps closer to me.
"It depends." I say as he gets even closer.
"On what?" I take a deep breath in as he closes the distance between us. Until there is no more steps to take.
I look up only to meet his gaze. Next thing I know is I grab the collar of his shirt pulling him down to connect my lips with his. Not sure if it is the alcohol doing this or something else but I can't stop it. I feel a hand gently grab my waist as I wrap one hand behind his neck. Finally pulling a way, I glance up to meet his gaze once again to see him smirking.
"Want to get out of here?"
