Homerun In Atlanta (Dansby Swanson)

Chapter 9

HOTEL
I made my way to Dansby's hotel room key in hand, which he happened to sneak me before the game. I quietly walked in before locking it. "Hello, Dansby are you here?" I quietly made my way around the corner of the room to see the bathroom light was on.

"Jesus christ Day!" I laughed as he flinched when he saw me.

"Sorry I thought you heard me say something when I walked in." I start and enter the bathroom. "I didn't think you would be in the shower."

"Its fine." I take a deep breath in as he approaches me and wraps his hands around my waist pulling me into his body. "Well I was sweating and knew you were going to be showing up."

Next thing I knew was his lips were on mine as my arms went around his neck backing him into the bathroom. "You know I was actually planning on taking a shower."

I watch as a grin appears on his face "oh really?" I nodded as his hands moved from my waist to the bottom of my shirt and taking it off before reconnecting the kiss as I took my shorts off.

"You know I've always heard that taking two showers is always better than one." Dansby jokes as we move towards the shower.

"Really, maybe we should test that idea." I smirked as I started to mess with the towel still wrapped around his waist til it fell to the ground. I watched as he stepped back in the shower turning the water back on. I slowly joined him standing in front of him before turning around to kiss him. I laughed as he lifts me up and I wrap my legs around his waist deeping the kiss. With the hot water hitting us nothing else, but this moment comes to mind even if it's something I'm going to have to deal with in the future.

NEXT MORNING
"Day, Day, Dayla! Wake up." I groan and turn over as I hear the voice. "Come on sleepy head wake up."

"Go away let me sleep." I say again before feeling weight on me. "Dansby get off of me. I'll get up if you move." I sit up once I feel his weight lift. "What do you want its 8 o clock in the morning?"

"I know it is. But since today is an off day, you and I are going to spend the day together." Dansby says kissing my cheek.

"Why can't you hang out with Charlie or something? I mean heck he's pretty much your twin anyways." I reply getting out of the bed.

"Well Charlie's going to be there too so is his wife." I snap around when I hear him say that.

"Are you sure that's a good idea since no one on the team....." I stop when I see the guilt appear on his face.

"I may of accidentally let it slip when I was talking to him. But I swear he has not said anything to anyone." Dansby says as he quickly comes to stand in front of me.

"Well atleast I know I'm not the only one who let it accidentally slip." I say as he cocks his head to the side. "I let it slip when I was with Lacy, Erin, Jess, and Olivia." I smile at him. "So what are we doing today?"

I start getting dressed and decide to throw my hair into a pony tail. "Well we decided that we are going to go do the Chicago Riverwalk and then I kinda want to see that bean sculpture thing."

"You mean Cloud Gate at Millennium Park?" I asked rolling my eyes as he nods. "Of course everyone likes to see the giant bean."

CLOUD GATE (MILLENNIUM PARK)
I have been to see the giant bean in Chicago many times from the time I lost Kris, during one of our first times in Chicago and we both went to the giant bean where we finally were able to find each other, to the time where Zach told me to give my dream of being a champion equestrian. But never in a million years did I think I would be standing in front of the giant bean with a guy that I'm using as a rebound. I smile as I feel him put an arm around my waist. "Are you happy that you get to see the giant bean?" I ask turning around to face him.

"I am. Not to mention it's fun to be able to do things without being recognized lol." he added.

"I think the normal clothes, the backwards hat and the sunglasses help." I said as Charlie and his wife Sarah walked up.

"Day, you're not going to believe how many times he mentioned he wanted to go see the giant bean in Chicago." Charlie mentioned while Dansby shook his head.

"I never mentioned it that much." Dansby added offering me his arm. Wrapping my hand around it the four of us began to walk.

"Dan, you mentioned it a ton. Even the kids mentioned wanting to go with Uncle Dan to go see the giant bean." Sarah added making us all laugh.

"Well now that we've seen the giant bean, how about we head to Chicago's Riverwalk before they close." I say as we continued to walk.

CHICAGO RIVERWALK
Standing by the railing thousands of thoughts begin to run throw my head. That's when I feel someone come up behind me. "Hey come and sit." I turn and follow Dansby to the steps and sit down next to him. I look over to see Charlie and Sarah still standing by the railing further down. "Its beautiful here." I smile looking back to the river.

"Yeah it really is. It's one of my favorite places to visit in Chicago." I reply looking over at him.

"Hey are you okay?" I sigh at his comment. "You've been quiet since we got here."

I turn to look at him "I'm fine, just tired." I say as I gently lay my head on his shoulder as he wraps a hand around my waist. If only he knew the thoughts running through my head.

If only he knew that I, Dayla Lynch was falling in love with him, Dansby Swanson
