AFTER THE GAME
I stood with the girls waiting for the guys to come out of the locker room to meet up with us. I barely understood what they were talking about since I was attempting to process what I had been told by this girl "Amber" in the stands, that she was engaged to Dansby. "Oh finally there are the guys." I looked up to see Sarah and some of the other wives/girlfriends meeting up with their guy. "Day you coming?"
I nodded before walking towards where all the guys were. I spotted Dansby and walked towards him as he smiled. Before I could say anything a flash of dark brown hair flew in front of me and was all over Dansby. "Amber what the hell are you doing?"
"What I can't be happy to see my fiance." she smirked before a panicked looked crossed Dansby's face as he looked over to me and pushed Amber away from him. "Oh you never told her." I glance over to Amber who is smirking at me. "Wow this is awkward, Dansby I can't believe you never told her that we are engaged."
"Amber what the hell are you talking about?!" Dansby exclaimed moving away from her. "Day, please tell me you don't believe a single word of this."
"I can't do this." I say as I back away from him holding tears back.
"Day, wait." I turn and avoid his grasp as I quickly made my way to my car. Once I got in the tears began to fall.
This could not be the end of my fairy tale.
SIX WEEKS LATER
Its been 6 weeks since the whole Dansby, Amber, myself thing. I have not seen Dansby or talked to him for those six weeks. It has sucked, my brothers are completely livid at him. Not to mention that poor Charlie has had to keep Adam from kicking Dansby's ass at practice. As for myself, I've attempted to move on but it's not been easy. So here I am in the arena riding Lincoln trying to focus on getting ready for a competition, with Jade tied out right outside of the arena fence.I wasn't paying attention when Jade started barking. I look up to notice a car pulling up that I didn't recognize. That is until the person got out of the car. Sighing I slowly got off of Lincoln and approached the arena fence. "What the hell do you want? Don't you think you've done enough?"
"That's why I'm here." the girl replied as she stopped.
"What the hell are you talking about Amber." I asked as I exit the arena and stand across from her.
"I lied." she replied as she dropped her head.
"What?" I asked bringing her focus back up to me.
"I lied about Dansby and I. Look Dayla, Dansby and I are not engaged. We never where." she replies as I can feel the rage start to build.
"Then why the hell would you say that if it's not true!!!" I exclaimed fists in balls.
"Because I was jealous." she says before taking a deep breathe. "Dansby and I dated in high school and our freshman year in college. I thought it was going to be my forever happily ever, but it wasn't we broke up. And when I found out that he was with someone and happy I just wanted him to feel the pain I did when he broke my heart."
I looked down taking slow breaths trying to process what she was saying. "But I realize that I was wrong." I glance back up at her as she continues. "All I've done is made it worse for others, I thought if maybe I could worm my way back into his life he would remember how great we were together, but...."
"But what?" I asked as she hesitates.
"He loves you. He never looked at me the way he does at you. And I'm sorry that I messed it up." Amber replied.
"I forgive you." I say as she nods.
"I really hope you guys can fix things. Because to be honest, you guys are pretty damn cute together." she replied smiling.
As I watched her walk back to her car and drive away I knew that she was right, I had to do one thing and that was.
Get Dansby back
