a miserable heaven

they defined love as a toxic ocean,
which craves innocent hearts,
and pleases as they drown within
they said love is inevitable,
a cause of ill fate,
which kills like a slow cancer,
debilitating your conscience,
and draining your senses

i was warned by the sufferers,
to stay as far as possible,
from the luring fire called love
so i built walls around me,
and painted them black,
which never reflected any shade of love
but who knew you would come,
out of colours and on the days,
when i have carelessly let my guard down

look how you have invaded
my miserable heaven, my poor heart
and planted impatience and insecurities,
on the ground beneath my feet
look how you have cleared my tainted vision,
and turned my heaven into a sweet hell,
look how i have endured my defeat,
and embraced love,
the thing i feared the most
