———Seven's POV
I stand up, quickly backing away from Daryl. No thank you. I'm fine bein' dirty. Daryl stands up opening the door that leads to the bathroom. "C'mon!" I very reluctantly follow him into the bathroom.
The first time he gave me a 'bath', he threw me into a stream but had to jump in right after once he realized I couldn't swim. I know, it's embarrassing that a dog can't swim. We both were drenched and regretted our decisions. The second time was in shallow water of a stream, but I kept moving and shaking out my coat of any water. He wasn't very happy that time. This will be the third time, I'm sure since he is still drunk, this is the only reason why we're doing this. If he was sober it probably would've been something he'd avoid.
He takes off his shirt to avoid it getting wet, along with his pants. He was standing there in just his underwear. Smart. But you're still gonna be soaking wet either way. He turns towards the shower turning it on, while he tries to find the right temperature. His back is turned towards me revealing his scarred back I've seen times before. He turns back to me with a small smile playing his lips, "Ya' ready for this?" No. "Too bad. Get in." I step into the mildly warm water him trying to avoid it as he begins to scrub me down with just water.
I shake, trying to rid my black coat of the damned water. "Damn it, Seven!" That's what ya' get! He has a scowl on his face but his eyes hold amusement. He pours soap, that's typically made for people, on my back and begins soaping me down. Once I'm covered in the foamy substance, I shake, making soap fly everywhere. "Fuckin' prick!" He yells, I look over and see him covered in soap and water. Shouldn't have decided ta' do this then. Daryl is trying to make an angry face but a grin still seems to come across his face. My tongue flops out of my mouth as I begin to smile and wag my tail, "You're really enjoying this, huh?" I offer him a happy bark as he quickly rinses me down, wishing for this to be over but 'secretly' having fun.
Once he's done, we both step out, once again drenched in water. He grabs a towel and wipes away any water that's dripping, leaving me still wet just a lot less so. "Alrigh' I'm gonna shower now, you go ahead and head on over ta' the rec room with tha' kids." he says wiping his face with the towel he just used on me. I let out a bark. Lucky for tha' kids I'm in a good mood. I very much hate water but, seeing Daryl happy counter acts the water I hate so much. He opens the door for me that leads into our room, before closing it.
I open the door, that leads to the hallway, using my paws and a bit of finesse, I sprint out towards the rec room. I see Lori opening the door to the rec room with a glass of wine in hand. I burst through the door rushing past her as she begins to fumble with the glass trying not to spill the contents. Her, Carol, and the kids laugh at this. I shake, water getting on all of them, "Why is he wet?!" Carl asks through fits of laughter.
Carol smiles, "Daryl must've given him a bath." I bark as confirmation. She seems surprised I would respond to that. I rub against the back of Carol's couch trying to rid of the water on my coat.
Once I'm satisfied I lay on the other end of the couch Carol is on. Carl and Sofia both rush over to me and begin petting me. I try to put on an angry face but Carl and Sofia are both smiling making me unconsciously soften my features. "Any good books?" Lori asks with a smile, looking at the huge bookcase.
"Uh-huh. Enough to keep us busy for years." Carol says, mirroring Lori's smile. "All right. Come on, kids, it's bedtime."
They let out groans of protest, "But mommy, Seven just got here, can we stay for a little bit longer?"
"Sorry, sweetie. It's bedtime. Maybe you can play with him some other time." Carol says apologetically. "Seven you should go to bed with Daryl too." I let out a bark, jumping down from the couch. Wasn't even here tha' long but whatever.
"Baby, go say your prayers. I'm gonna browse a bit." Lori says as she starts to wander.
Carol turns as she touches Sofia's nose for a second, "This is the first night we might actually get some real sleep. It's a miracle, isn't it?" Once she says that I sprint off down the halls towards Daryl and I's room.
I get on my back legs pushing open the door after finessing the door knob once more. The door creaks open to reveal Daryl dressed and laying down on the couch in the dark, his hands under his head as he leans up a little to stare at me. I push the door close and use my snout to hit the button on the door knob to lock it. I hop up onto the opposite end of the couch — being that there is no more room on the couch to lay down on, I decide to lay on his legs. He shifts a bit getting comfortable before asking, "Ya' comfortable?" I grunt in response.
Daryl succumbs to the effects of the alcohol, and falls asleep. I stay awake, still very wary of the bad feeling that has been racking my mind.

OKAY! I know it's super short but that's because the next one is gonna be long. I was originally gonna combine the two but that'd make too long of a chapter so please bare with me.
