To my surprise, I wake up before my alarm even goes off. I glance over at my alarm clock on my nightstand that reads 7:30am and I drop my head into my pillow while letting out a groan. Why is it when I actually want to sleep in, I can't, but the days I have to be awake at this time, I'm ready to sleep for 5 days straight?
I lazily roll out of bed, not ready for today. I do my usual morning routine. Jumping into the shower, getting out and blow drying my hair. Just as I'm in the middle of brushing my teeth, I hear a knock at the front door and then muffled voices downstairs.
I quickly finish brushing my teeth and run down the stairs to see who it is so early in the morning. The first person I see is Ron, dressed up in his suit ready to head off to work so I'm assuming he's the one that answered the door. At the sight of him so early in the morning, it causes the feeling of vomit to rise in my throat
"Morning Ry" Macey chirps, walking over to me and throwing her arms around me. I wrap my arms around her as well when I feel another pair of arms around us but stronger
"Morning" Lennie chimes in and I chuckle at how affectionate they're being this morning
"What are you guys doing here so early" I ask as we break apart from the hug I was just swallowed in
"You really thought Lennie and I were going to let you leave for the whole summer without saying goodbye?" Macey says, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms
"Good point" I say laughing
"I'm heading out for work but have a safe trip and have a fun summer at your dad's place" Ron interrupts and I plaster a fake smile on my face
"Thanks" I answer him simply and he disappears behind the open door, closing it gently behind him
"Mace told me about the engagement, that's crazy" Lennie whispers just incase my mom was awake by now
"Crazy isn't the word" I roll my eyes, letting out a giant sigh at the thought of my mom marrying captain douche
"Anyways, we're going for breakfast so let's go" Macey says, clapping her hands together while heading towards the door
"Yes boss" Lennie salutes jokingly. I'm going to miss them so much this summer. My best friends. The only ones that truly understand me and can make me laugh even when I don't want to
We end up at our usual café that has the best breakfast ever. We come here so often that every waitress knows our order by heart and punches it in as soon as we walk through the doors. We sit at our usual booth and the waitress brings us our usual drink orders. Orange juice for Macey and I and apple juice for Lennie. Lennie starts rambling on about how excited he is about all of us getting into the same college but the sound of the bell on the entrance doors rings and catches my attention. The person walking through the door causes my breath to hitch and I can feel my heart thumping in my chest
Alex Mable. The boy I've grown strong feelings for throughout senior year. Senior year consisted of us casually flirting with each other almost every day, me going to every one of his football games and wearing his jerseys, and, we went to prom together and hooked up at the after party. No, we didn't have sex but it was a very steamy make-out session that resulted in both of us having barely any clothing left on and not being able to catch our breath for a good 5 minutes
He was so attractive with his chocolate brown eyes and wavy brunette hair. He was also pretty tall but then again, anyone is taller than my 5'7 frame. He was pretty popular being the running back of the football team, any girl would be lucky to have him. We've been on a couple dates since prom but nothing more than a make-out session after every date has happened. I bite my lip to suppress a moan escaping at the thought of his bare chest, his body was just so nice
