"Rise and shine sleeping beauty" I hear Riley chirp as she enters my room
She puts something down on my nightstand and I slowly open my eyes. She pulls the curtains open and I squeeze my eyes shut
"Riley" I yell, my voice slightly hoarse from all the throwing up I did last night
"I brought you water and Advil. You're welcome" she says before walking out
"Thank you!" I call out after her. I sit up a little bit and open my eyes again, rubbing them to help adjust to the sunlight. I reach my hand over to grab the 2 pills placed on a napkin on my side table and pop them in my mouth before grabbing the glass of water to swallow them
When I reach over to grab my phone, I realize it's not there. I place the water back on the side table and get out of bed, checking my blanket and the bed for my phone that's no where to be seen
I run out of my room only to be met with my dad and Riley sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast and looking at a giant book. I don't catch their attention until I get closer to the table and I can see the giant book is actually an old photo album
"Why are you looking at that" I say feeling slightly irritated
Riley looks at me and starts giggling
"What's so funny" I say while crossing my arms
"Your face" she says and her giggle turns into a full out laugh. Dad tries to contain his laughter by shoving a piece of bacon into his mouth and chewing quickly. I roll my eyes making a mental note to head to the shower next
"But seriously, why are you even looking at those" I cautioned
"Well good morning to you too" dad says. I choose to ignore him and turn my attention to Riley, getting to the real point of why I'm in the kitchen right now
"Did you take my phone this morning when you came in?" I ask her
"Why would I do that?" she answers with annoyance laced in her voice
"Forget it" I say and turn around to head back to my room
"Why don't you join us for breakfast? Grab a plate or I can fix you one, just come sit" dad says while starting to stand up
"And do what? Take a trip down memory lane with the photo album while we talk about the better times? Thanks but no thanks" I say with a dry tone and continue heading to my room
I sit down on the edge of my bed and put my face in my hands. Think Ryan, think. There's only one other place it could possibly be. Jessica's house. I groan out loud at the thought of having to show my face after last night and throw myself backwards on the bed. I stare at the ceiling for a minute or two not even thinking about anything in particular
Before I even do anything, I need to hit the shower. Riley was right to laugh at my appearance, I looked like I just survived a zombie apocalypse. If I was going to show my face at Jessica's ever again, I needed to look somewhat decent
While I'm in the shower, I replay last nights events in my mind and cringe when I think about throwing up in front of Damon. Jeez, he must think I'm a spaz
Once I'm finished showering, I dress in a spaghetti strap sundress that's pink with white flowers on it. I planned to hit the beach and boardwalk at some point so I make sure to put my bikini on underneath it. I quickly blow dry my hair and throw it up in a messy bun. The sun here was too hot to have your hair down most of the time, it only makes you feel even hotter. I learned that quickly
When I get into my room, Riley is sitting on my bed holding a bouquet of flowers. I'm filled with confusion and I almost want to laugh because the bouquet is almost as big as her
