The afternoon is spent at one of the mall's not too far from my dad's place. Surprisingly he let me drive his beloved Jeep which only confirmed for me that this is definitely the car I want. Riley decided to tag along which made me happy. I loved hearing her opinion when it came to clothing because she's brutally honest. She'd never let me wear anything she found not worthy enough
The first store we stop at is called Lux. They sell pretty much everything and anything so we were bound to find something in here. Mace heads off in one direction and I head off in another with Riley trailing behind me. She stops every now and then to get a better look at some dresses while I pick out a variety of things. When I feel good about the different options I'm holding, I go over to the fitting room area where Macey is approaching at the same time. Perfect
"Show me every outfit Ry, I'll do the same" Macey says before going into her fitting room and I agree to do so
I change into the first outfit I picked out which is a simple tight blue dress with lace sleeves. I step out of the fitting room and Riley's head snaps up to look at me with a frown on her face. She didn't even have to tell me that she hated it, the look said it all. A couple seconds later, Macey steps out in the exact same dress but in a different colour
"I knew we were best friends for a reason" Macey says while laughing
"You two have the same taste in a lot of things huh" Riley chimes in but something about her tone sends a chill down my spine. I've never heard that come from her before and I couldn't tell if it was because she was trying too hard to contain her laughter or if there was a hidden jab in her words
"Let's try on something else" I say before quickly turning to go back into my fitting room, avoiding an awkward silence moment
I come out in a red shirt with a plunging neck line with no sleeves and a skirt that only goes to my mid thigh. Riley crosses her arms and shakes her head
"Are you going to a strip club or a party?" Riley mocks and I sigh, turning around to change into something else. I can hear Riley giving Macey her harsh criticism as well on whatever she just came out in and not even a minute later, I hear the door to Macey's fitting room close again
I try on two more outfits and both of them were a fail. I start to grow frustrated and feel ready to give up. I only have one outfit left to try on and if Riley hates it, I've already agreed in my mind to just wear something I have at home. Macey already found her outfit on the third try and I'm on my fifth. The struggle is definitely alive and real
I step out of the fitting room, actually feeling good about this outfit. I do a little turn and Riley gives me a smile and two thumbs up. I become giddy and Macey let's out a squeal while clapping her hands together
"You look so good in that Ry, all eyes are going to be on you tonight" Mace says and I flash her a genuine smile. I'm wearing a tight, black, spaghetti strap top that has a slight open back and a matching tight skirt that stops a bit above my knees. I look in the mirror again at myself and become even more excited for tonight. Alex is going to go crazy in the best way possible when he sees me in this
"Are we ready to go then?" Riley asks and I nod, heading back in the fitting room to change quickly and then to the check out desk. By the time we leave the mall, it's already 5:30pm which meant we only had a couple hours to get ready
When we arrive at the house, the guys are back from jet skiing but there's no time to talk. I give Alex a quick peck on the lips before being dragged off to my room for Mace to start my makeup
"Hold still would ya, you're acting like i'm trying to pluck your eye out" Mace says while holding my head in place
"I'm sorry, I just never wear eyeliner on my bottom lash line" I whine but do my best to hold still. I didn't want her to accidentally poke me in the eye because I'm incapable of keeping still for five seconds
