They had to cancel their original Friday night plans as Mikayla was not feeling all that well. With a smile, Damien entered into his master bedroom, a hot water bottle in his hand that he had encased in a cute quilted purple cover. In his other hand, he carried a tray of pretzel sticks and jar of Nutella.

"Here you go," he said, as he placed the hot water bottle on Mikayla's stomach before handing her the snacks.

Once he was sure that she was comfortable, he kissed her temple, then made his way to the other side of the bed.

Mikayla smiled, feeling her cheeks heat at his thoughtful gestures, "I'm sorry that I disrupted our weekend plans."

"It's fine love, Paris is right there. We can always see my parents next weekend." Damien said as he laid down in the bed, getting a remote from his side table.

He pressed a button and a slim flat screen tv descended from the ceiling as he added, "Besides, I rather our first Paris treat be mother nature free, no red barons allowed."

A laugh erupted from Mikayla, causing her to wince a bit, as another period cramp wracked through her. She suffered from PCOS and as a result, had been using birth control pills for the last few years to regularise her period. Some months were normal and pain free. However, there were times when the cramps would be more intense than usual.

"Of course, it all boils down to one thing huh?" she said as she playfully rolled her eyes, dipping a pretzel stick into the jar of Nutella.

"You know that's not true, having your period will not stop me from making love to you, that's what showers are for," Damien said with a mischief glint in his aquamarine eyes.

Shaking her head, Mikayla exclaimed, "Oh... My... Geed! Gosh you're so nasty!"

"Perhaps, but I'm your nastiness remember?" he leaned down and gave her a kiss, his tongue cleaning the bit of Nutella that had gathered at the corner of her lips, "Plus I heard that orgasms are good for the cramps."

"Of course, you'd know that," she sighed softly at the feel of his tongue against her lips. "So, you like to run through red lights huh? I didn't peg you as that kind of person."

"Beep beep," Damien mimicked a car horn. He laughed softly before he went onto say, "I've never done anything like that before, but I'd do anything for you."

"Well I'm good with some cuddles and a hot water bottle, and maybe some coffee éclairs," she pouted at the end.

"Fair enough, I'll be sure to get some coffee éclairs for you tomorrow." Damien said with a smile as he snuggled up close to her, "Plus I did promise your mother that I'd take care of you so I needed to get all the necessary information."

Mikayla kissed his cheek, loving how thoughtful he was.

Damien turned the television on and opened up a plethora of movie options, "Let me guess, something animated yea?"

"Yes please!" Mikayla said excitedly.

If someone would have told Damien four months ago, that he would be soon be spending his Friday nights watching a children's cartoon, while helping to nurse the period cramps of his girlfriend, he'd have not believed a word of it. However, now that he was here, there wasn't anywhere else that he'd rather be.

Being with Mikayla had turned out to be better than anything that he could have imagined. He loved spending time with her, enjoying their witty banters. The way she bossed him around in the kitchen, while she prepared Caribbean dishes had become a highlight for him.

He loved that she often created a fusion mix of Trinbagonian and French cuisine, his favourite being saltfish with croissants. When she first suggested the combination, he thought it was blasphemy. However, the minute he took a bite, his taste buds instantly fell in love.
