"Sonic, I'm not exactly doing great. I just..."

Manic shuddered, took a breath, and continued.

"I'm not doing good. At all. I mean, I can usually hide it for a while. But like yesterday when I met your friends, I'm not in a good state of mind. Then, I'm constantly scared no matter what's happening, I get really sad or angry out of nowhere, I'm having really bad thoughts, I keep having nightmares, and nothing seems to be helping. I try medications, but sometimes that makes it worse. I've started cut-"

Manic stopped himself. He didn't know how Sonic would respond to the self harm.

"Look, I just don't know what to do. Silver and Shadow told me to talk to you about it because they thought things were getting crazy."

Finally, Sonic responded, "Hey, that's great, Manic."

Manic was shocked. Hoping he'd heard incorrectly, he asked, "Wait, this is great? You don't think anything's wrong?"

"Nah, I'm not worried, not troubled, everything is fine by me."

Manic began shaking. This couldn't be coming from Sonic. Not his own brother. "Everything is fine?"

"Yeah. Now, I've got a few things to get done here. Take care of yourself, alright?"

Manic, barely able to answer, weakly said, "Alright."
