"Any if you willing to go to the boss room, stand forward and be prepared; we set out in an hour." It was a man with dark hair, and his eyes glinted.
"Let's go, we can't get involved in that." I spoke up, but Kirito took my hand.
"(YN), it's floor seventy-five, there'll be some way to cheat the system - the code was never secure; it's what happened with floors fifteen and seventeen too." Kirito argued.
"I'm not doing the fight with Livia and Max here; it's too dangerous." I pointed out.
"(YN)..." He sounded exasperated, and sighed. "I'll go by myself, then; I can't stand by and do nothing." I bit the inside of my lip. We'd never once gone into a fight without each other - the thought terrified me.
"You can't go by yourself..." My voice was weak, but as I met Kirito's eyes again, the only thing I saw was determination; he needed to do it... "What if something happens, Kirito, then what?" Max and Livia stood back slightly, knowing there opinion and words would only cause more trouble.
"Nothing will happen, (YN), I'll stay with Klein and his guild, I won't go to the front lines." He could sense my anxiety over the situation and walked forward a few steps to wrap his arms around me. Never mind that it was only a VR game, it felt so... real.
"They'll want you at the front; you're the best at the game." I reminded him, but I felt him shrug slightly.
"I'm not going to the front, I promise." No matter how much he said it, the words didn't seem to sink in.
"Please come back..." I asked if him, my voice breaking slightly. "Don't leave me..."
"I'll be back at the cabin as soon as this is all over." He promised and released me from his embrace.

Kirito had walked away into the area the fighters were gathering, making sure their loot was the best it could be.
"He'll be okay, right?" Max asked as I turned back to them; I only smiled weakly.
"I hope so... if he dies or gets injured, I don't know what to do..." I was being reasonable, it was very likely that something would happen; every boss fight resulted in only more casualties as the levels progressed.
The three of us headed to the cabin and tried to take our mind off Kirito going into the boss room. I knew he'd probably be safe, but there was a feeling in my stomach that suggested otherwise.

Nothing will ever drag on as much as time did then; yet even with time going seemingly slower, I knew that even doing a boss level shouldn't take that long. And soon we found out why.
"(YN), did you see the player message?" Max asked after opening his inventory. I shook my head and repeated Max's steps, looking at my inbox.
'Your end is here, if you wish to see your escape, press 'play'.'
Confusion was all I felt, and it wasn't long before my index finger pressed the large grey button, play.

The video displayed a video of, what I assumed was, the boss room. There were half as many men as there had been at the beginning, and the thought that Kirito was one of the unlucky ones crossed my mind a multitude of times.
"Is Kirito there?" Livia asked but as I continued to look for him, I saw him on the front lines, where he said he wouldn't be...
"You two, you have to stay here; I'm going to them." I stood almost instantly, closing down the video.
"But (YN), you can't do that." Max argued, trying to pull me back to the sofa.
"Kirito's on the front lines, Max, I have to do something; I can't just stand by and watch." I pointed out, causing Max to loosen his grip.
"Stay here; I'll be back soon, okay?" I reassured the two before running out of the cabin, towards the nearest teleportation pad.

Once I arrived on the seventy-fifth floor, I managed to find my way to the boss room door, which was left ajar slightly from the people I had seen running out. Never before had a boss room door been able to be opened during a battle, yet that seemed to change with this one.
"Don't go in there, (YN)." I'd been told many times as I made my way to the door, but I brushed them off. I needed to get to Kirito before it was too late.
I made my way past the door and what I saw made me freeze, only momentarily, but that could've cost me my life.

The beast was large, and it had horns that spiralled from its head, the structure and detail of the entirety was too realistic.
I recognised Asuna's guild we're fighting too, and there was Klein's too, yet as I searched for Kirito, I failed to see him anywhere remotely safe.
The beast caught sight of me as I entered, its large boss door slamming shut tremendously loud. I made sure my hood covered my face before dodging the attacks that came targeted for me. Others took advantage of this and started damaging the beast, but with the six different health bars, barely anything changed.
I took notice to how different weapons did different damage; it dawned upon me that Kirito's weapon did the most, nearly a tenth of the health bar in just two hits, which was more than at least twelve men combined.
I needed to get over to him, his stamina was running low with the amount of exertion he was putting into it.
I told him not to do this...
