The days turned into night and the nights turned into weeks as I kept my distance from Nick. It was my only choice and I didn't come to that decision because I was afraid of Prudence and what she may do if I didn't keep away from him. I made the decision for my own well being, I was afraid what would happen to me if I continued to entertain the idea of me and Nick. It killed me forcing myself to stay away from him. It was like there was this invisible force pulling me towards him and I had to fight with all my strength to not it let it pull me towards him. Do you know how hard that is? To have something end just as quickly as it begun?.
Nick has tried to talk to me in class, in the hallways, he even astral projected to my room a few times, but I don't want to talk to him. I hadn't talked to Prudence either since the unholy lunch date and I was glad for it. I had seen her in the hallways and in classes and she has thrown me a few dirty looks, but nothing more. I am surprised she hasn't tried to summon a demon to kill me or something!.
I had a free period earlier today so I decided to take a few books to the library with me to study. The Library calms my soul, being in a quiet room surrounded by books grounds me. The Library in the Academy is beautiful, full of chandeliers and portraits. Shelves of books that reach the ceilings and candles lit on tables together with sofa's and arm chairs. I took a seat next to the grand fireplace and studied for a while.
"Sabrina, hey!" A cheerful, but quiet voice greeted me, I looked up from my books to see Star smiling at me.
"Hey Star how have you been?!". I asked.
"I've been good thank you, do you mind if I sit with you?" Star asked and I think her politeness is sweet. I offer her a seat and she sits down retrieving books from her bag.
"I haven't seen you around lately, I guess you have been spending time with Prudence". Star said as she adjusted her glasses.
"I haven't, me and Prudence aren't really friends". I admitted.
"Oh, but you went to lunch together?" Star replied looking confused as she recalled the lunch date.
"She only invited me to lunch so she could tell me not to associate with someone". I said turning pages of my book to distract me from remembering.
"Oh..." Star trailed off, I could sense she felt a little awkward as she sensed I didn't really want to talk about it. Her aura was sweet and I could tell she wasn't the type to gossip. I didn't have any female friends in the Academy so I decided to open up to her.
"Prudence asked me to stay away from a guy called Nicholas Scratch, I don't know if you know him". I confessed closing my book and putting on the table in front of us.
"Who doesn't know Nicholas? He is the finest Warlock in this school!". Star replied excitedly, her eyes grew wide with excitement.
"I know". I could feel heat rushing to my cheeks.
"Sabrina Spellman, are you blushing? Do you like Nick?!" Star practically squealed tossing her book into the seat next to her.
"No...I mean yes...I think he likes me too, but Prudence confirmed my suspicions that he doesn't commit". I sighed feeling the familiar sinking feeling of the truth.
"Girl, please! Prudence only said that because he wouldn't commit to her. She is probably jealous!" Star rolled her eyes. This comment sparked my interest and I could feel my heart starting to pound. Star could tell I had no idea what she was talking about so she continued.
"Before you came to the Academy Prudence was practically throwing herself at Nick at every opportunity she could get. It was on the verge of desperation to be honest, she would sit next to him in classes, sit with him at lunch. She would try to get his attention in his free time. It was evident to everyone that he wasn't interested. They had hooked up at parties previously, but that is as far as it went, but Prudence wanted more and Nick didn't. I guess you could call it unrequited love or maybe obsession".
The thought of Prudence and Nick hooking up hurt my heart, but it all made sense now as to why she wanted me to stay away from him.
"Last year she practically begged him to take her to the Halloween Dance. They went together, I guess Nick only did it to get her off his back, but the night ended terribly". Star continued. I was practically on the edge of my seat wanting to know more.
"We know that The Dark Lord only wants his followers to love him only, but very rarely he will make exceptions to the rule. He will sometimes create what are known as Twin Flames, do you know what this is Sabrina?". Star asked, I shook my head intrigued.
"Twin Flames consist of two people, the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine. They both share the same soul that was split in half before they reincarnated onto Earth. They share a soul so they are the same person so they are the mirror image of one another. They are the ultimate soulmates, their connection is not like any other. They can communicate telepathically, they possess the ability of an Empath meaning they can feel what the other is feeling. Union between the two is difficult. The Dark Lord will throw many obstacles at them to test them, to keep them apart. Only the strongest come into union and when they do it is said that The Dark Lord will visit them on Halloween Night".
My head felt like it was spinning from all this information, but I needed to know more.
"What is so significant about that day?" I asked.
"Well Halloween celebrates our kind so it's really The Dark Lord's night to rise on Earth. As I mentioned before Twin Flames are rare so on Halloween night The Dark Lord will bring the twins into Union so that they can begin their mission which is to spread his gospel together". I understood, but what did this have to do with Prudence and Nick...then it hit me.
"Did Prudence believe that Nick was her Divine Masculine? Her Twin Flame?". I asked feeling so baffled by Prudence's obsession.
"Yes, exactly!" Star clapped her hands together like she was a Teacher and I was her best student.
"Prudence was convinced that The Dark Lord would visit them both on Halloween night and confirm their divine relationship, but he never showed up because they aren't Twin Flames. When Prudence realized this she became enraged and tried to burn down the Academy". My mouth fell open at this revelation.
"Father Blackwood expelled her for some time, but then she was allowed to come back to the Academy because of course she is Father Blackwood's daughter".
"But why was she so obsessed over this Twin Flame connection?".
"Because I guess she wanted authority, to have power, to say that she was a part of The Dark Lord's plan for us all?". Star shrugged. My mind was racing with a thousand questions, but there was one important question that I had to know the answer to.
"Star, how do you know if you are a Twin Flame?".
