Skylox: the maid

Chapter 3

Sky took a deep breath and walked out the door. He walked past the markets saying 'Hi' every once in a while when he saw one of his mother's friends. After Sky had passed the markets he started running and ran to the castle in about a 4 minute period. Sky rang the doorbell at the front door. Sky heard the doorbell go off on the inside making a series of what sounded like piano cords. Sky saw a butler open the door.

"Yes?" He asked looking at Sky.

"Oh, uh hi, i'm here for the new job." Sky said showing the butler his maid suit.

"Oh, yes, come in." Sky's new co-worker insisted with a kind smile.

Sky walked in and looked around smiling. This place was huge!

"Oh, uh..." Sky started. Man! He didn't even know his co-worker's name yet.

"Jack or call me j4." He said with a smile.

"Oh, i'm Sky." Sky said realizing he hadn't introduced himself yet either. "Do you know where the bathroom is?" Sky asked.

"Yeah, right down that hall and on the right.

"Thanks!" Sky said as he ran to the bathroom. Jack just smiled and continued with his work. Sky quickly changed and once he got out he wondered what to start with. He was about to go to the ballroom when he felt someone tap him on the shoulder. Sky turned around and saw one of King Deadlox's guards.

"King Deadlox would like to see you." He said. Sky nodded and followed the guard to where King Deadlox was. When they approached the room they saw Deadlox sitting in his throne surrounded by beautiful paintings with a buttery frames. When Deadlox saw Sky in his maid outfit he started blushing madly, he quickly hoped Sky couldn't tell he was blushing from where he was.

"Yes King Deadlox?" Sky asked.

"I just wanted to inform you that you will be living here from now on, you have one more day to live at your house." Deadlox quickly informed him. Sky looked up at him surprised. He opened his mouth to argue but then quickly closed it remembering Deadlox was the king. If he argued with him he could be sent in jail. Even killed! Sky just looked down and nodded. He then left the room a little sad. When Sky left Deadlox immediately felt terrible. But what was done was done.

Sky's job went by pretty fast the rest of the day and when the bell rang Sky ran for the bathroom. He quickly changed and opened the door. He saw Jack walking up the grand staircase.

"Bye Jack! I'll see you tomorrow!" Sonic said as he closed the door and continued running. Jack smiled and waved before walking up the stairs again. Sky ran through the town and quickly getting to his house opened and closed the door. He saw his mom reading the newspaper and when she heard Sky come in she looked up.

"How was it?" She asked.

"I have to live there now!" Sky said as he walked over to his bed and got a small bag to put his clothes in.

"You have to live there?!" He mom asked surprised.

"Yeah, but mom, if I move it will cost less money for you, plus i'll be able to also make money for you." Sky said as he finished packing. "Trust me mom, it'll be fine."

"I guess." Sky's mom said.

"Oh, here mom." Sky said as he put the pay he got today down.

Sky's mom looked up too shocked to believe it. "$200 dollars for one day?!" Sky's mom asked. Sky nodded happily as his mom hugged him. "Honey! Were going to be rich if you keep this up!" Sky's mom said. Sky's mom looked even happier than she was yesterday. Probably because if he kept this up, they would be out of living in fear and on the edge of living on the streets. Sky ate his dinner and went to bed because there was nothing else to do. Yet Sky couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about this man. He was a brown color and he had amber eyes and his chest fur was more of a gray color. Other than that he looked like him. But what was weird was not that he looked like him, it was weird because it was jack.
