Max's POV:

"Hey, Max!" Thrasher says, pulling me into a hug.

"Hey!" I reply as I hug back. "She's doing fine, before you ask."

"Good to hear!" Michael smiles out as he, too, goes to hug me. "How was your trip?"

"Exhausting, dude." I say as I walk inside their apartment.

"Well, you're here, now." Thrasher said as I sat down on the couch. "You can rest. Did you want some tea?"

"That actually sounds really good right now. Thank you" I reply. Kevin smiled, walking into the kitchen with Michael. I lean back, sinking into the couch cushions, allowing my thoughts to take me away. I think of Ronnie and how, when we were teenagers, I'd sneak out of my house and go over to his place when his dad wasn't home. We would play video games and, more often than not, we would find ourselves tangled up in each other's bodies. His arms would wrap around me as we slept. I would wake up to him whispering sweet nothings in my ear. Oftentimes, he would make breakfast for us.

I really do miss those days. I close my eyes as I remember how supportive Ronnie was when I told him I was pregnant and wanted to have an abortion all those years ago. I was, after all, only sixteen. What else was I to do? I soon find myself drifting off to sleep, barely able to acknowledge when Michael and Thrasher came back into the room.

"Sleep well, Maxie." I could hear Michael say as I felt a blanket being pulled over me. I love these guys to death. And I know that my daughter will be in good hands.
