Kayla Salvatore had remembered the last memory she had. She remembered the dinner she was invited to by her friend. How he spoke to her about Damon and Stefan. And then nothing.

Her thoughts were blank as she tried to recall anything to how she ended up in this tomb. She was trying to find some sort of solution to this puzzle.

Her surroundings seemed unfamiliar to her. Her thoughts jumbled as she tried to think. What had happened to her?

It took her a moment to grasp her bearings. Her whole body felt stiff and she was unsure whether she could hold herself up. Her throat felt dry and her mind fogged. A necklace handing around her neck but she paid it no mind.

She sat up and swung her legs over the slab she had been placed on and her feet touched the cold floor beneath her. She tried to stand only for her legs to give out from under her. She gasped at the impact before her arms reached out to hoist her up.

With whatever strength she could muster, she was able to pull herself to her feet. Her hands didn't leave the slab that balanced her until she was sure she could hold herself. This time her movements were cautious and slow, not wanting another incident.

Her hands stuck to the wall as she proceeded to find her way out of her confinement. The walls made of stone but all going one direction. She felt the wind first. It's gentle breeze gracing her skin.

Finally, she saw an opening. Once she was out she closed her eyes and took a deep breath of the air. Around her stood trees and dark heavy clouds loomed overhead. The light was limited but enough for her to see.

As if out of instinct, her feet began to move forward. She didn't fight against her movements she took. It was like whatever had woken her was calling to her.

Twigs snapped under feet as she walked. She held onto the trees whenever she was unsure of her footing. The path she took was quick as she exited the forest around her.

This time her feet touching something else. Her gaze went around the new environment. The trees were cleared a substantial distance from one another and a black flooring laid out in front of her. On either side of her it  seemed to stretch out of sight.

She didn't spend much time standing there as she began walking down the road. Her pace quicken at the fact that she didn't have to walk cautiously. But her journey was stopped again when she saw the town.

The sign telling her it was her home town but it was nothing like she remembered. Houses sprouted around as well as more buildings but these buildings were nothing that she had seen. Street lights lit her way as she made her way into town. The lights provided her a better opportunity to see where she was going.

But she moved down the road making various turns and passing by everything. The intuition guiding her where she needed to go. It wasn't till she stopped in front of a particular big house.
