Lian stood outside the door for a few minutes not sure what to do. He took a few deep breaths then opened the door. When he looked in he saw the room was dark even though it was still light outside. He slowly made his way in and placed the tray on Ming's desk. There he found a small lamp and turned it on. The light lit up the room enough for Lian to see. He turned and found Ming sleeping on the bed facing the wall.
Lian walked over to him noticing that the blanket was half way off him. Lian smiled and pulled it up which only made Ming roll over towards him. Lian knelt down looking at Ming. Ming was still wearing his mask and his glasses laying on the bed next to him. Lian reached over taking the glasses and placed them on the table next to the bed. He turned back to Ming pushing his hair from his face.
''I don't see why you want to hide your face'' he said in a soft whisper smiling.
Lian stood then started to walk around Ming's room. He wasn't the bit shock to see that it looked like a normal room for a student that all they did was study. There was a shelf next to the desk full of books. He walked over and started to look through the books. On top of the shelf was a few photos of Ming and his mother. Lian picked one up of Ming as a child and looked it over. He laughed a bit thinking how cute he was.
Ming tossed in his bed again rolling back over to face the wall. Lian put the photo back and went back over to Ming reaching over to feel is forehead ''You're still burning up'' he said.
Lian left the room and went down stairs back to the kitchen to find Ming's mother making dinner ''Ming is still running a fever'' he said softly.
She turned to him ''The meds are in the bathroom upstairs across from his room'' she said ''I'll also bring up some ice water and a rag.''
Lian nodded and grabbed his bag then headed back upstairs going to the bathroom and grabbing the meds. He walked back to Ming's room and placed his bag next to the bed. He sat on the edge and rolled Ming over onto his back. Lian popped a few pills out and grabbed the cup of water on the table. He sat Ming up a little and placed the pills in his mouth then held the cup to his lips for him to drink. Once he knew Ming took the pills he helped him lay back down.
Ming's mother came in holding a bowl and a rag in her hands. Lian stood and went over taking them from her only to place them on the table next to the bed. She stood there and watched as Lian dipped the rag in the water then placed it on Ming's forehead.
Lian let a soft sigh out. She walked over and placed a head on his shoulder ''He will be ok'' she said ''This is normal for him.''
Lian nodded keeping his eyes on Ming ''I still blame myself'' he said ''I shouldn't have dragged him along with us.''
''You will stay for dinner, yes'' she asked ''You should call your family and let them know.''
''They won't mind'' he said.
She nodded and turn to leave the room. Lian walked over and grabbed his bag pulling his books out. He sat on the floor next to the bed as he studied. After a few hours Ming slowly woke up. As he moved to sit up the rag from his forehead fell into his lap. He looked around to find someone sitting on the floor near him. He leaned over and pointed to one of the problems in the book.
''That one is wrong'' he said softly through his mask ''And that one too'' he pointed to another problem.
Lian jumped and turned around looking at him ''You're awake'' he said reaching up touching his forehead ''Are you feeling better? Do you hurt anywhere?'' Lian stood up his books falling on the floor as he moved to sit on the bed next to him.
Ming laughed a bit ''I feeling a bit better and no I don't hurt anywhere'' Ming turned his head and coughed a bit.
Lian grabbed the cup of water and handed it to him ''You should still rest'' he said ''Are you hungry? I can have your mom reheat the soup.''
