A Love We Never Saw Happen

Chapter Five

The next day both Rose and Jiang were waiting for Ming at the corner of his street. When Ming showed up he was a bit surprised to see them there. He walked over to them slowly.

''What are you two doing here'' he asked confused.

Rose walked over to him looping her arm with his ''Well me and Jiang thought since we live near by we could just walk to school with you for now on.''

Jiang smiled as well and waved ''Rose kinda forced me to come'' he said teasing ''But it would be nice to walk together. Don't you think?''

Ming smiled and nodded a bit. He had never had anyone to walk with before. As they walked Rose talked about how she and the girls were thinking about going on a group date with some boys from another school. Ming couldn't help but laugh and enjoy her talking. Jiang tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.

''Did you know the three of us have been in the same school and class since middle school'' he said.

Ming looked at him a bit shocked ''No, I didn't'' he said ''Then again I never paid much attention to anyone.''

Rose giggled ''It's true'' she said ''You always have kept to yourself from what I have seen and heard.'' She stopped and looked at him ''Why is that?''

Ming stopped and looked down ''If you have been in the same school with me then you should know.''

Jiang sighed softly and looked at Rose ''Do you remember the kid that confessed to his classmate and was rejected?''

Rose nodded then looked at Ming who was hanging his head ''I see'' she took his hand in her and patted it softly ''He was stupid for doing so'' she said ''Is that why you hide it?''

Ming looked up at her then looked at Jiang ''Wait, you both know'' he said.

''Of course we know'' Jiang said then wrapped an arm around his neck ''And even if you are, we don't care and we aren't going to tell anyone either. If you want to keep it hidden then we will do so as well.''

Rose hugged Ming's arm tightly ''You're just as normal as the rest of us'' she said looking up at him ''Don't let others say different.''

Ming bit his lip tightly so hide the tears ''Thanks'' he said softly.

''Now that's settled let's hurry before the others tease us for being late'' Rose said pulling both Jiang and Ming with her.

Ming laughed a bit and followed along. He felt as if he was finally able to be himself around Rose and Jiang. They weren't judging him and still cared for him as a friend. When they got to school everyone was already waiting for them at the gate. Yang and Fang jumped on Jiang and started to mess with him.  Lang walked over and stood next to Ming laughing and shaking his head.

''Those twins will be the death of me'' Lang said.

''The four of you get along well'' Ming said back.

''I have known the twins since grade school and we have known Jiang since the last year of middle school'' Lang looked at Ming and smiled ''Now that you are with us, I hope the five us will be great friends as well.'' He held his hand out to Ming.

Ming took it and smiled back ''Me too.''

Just then the twins turned their attention to Ming. Lang stepped out of the way. Yang was the first to run over at Ming and put him in a headlock. Fang joined by picking Ming up.

''Ming, you belong to us now'' Yang said laughing ''You are doomed.''

''We will make sure you are properly welcomed into the group'' Fang said.
