You don't walk on solid ground and expect to fall. But that's exactly what I did, I fell.

I scraped my knee on the pavement and started bleeding immediately.

Wonwoo kneels down beside me with panic in his eyes. "Noona..."

"I'm okay." I try to stand but my joints gave out the first second I tried to move. I fall back on my bum.

"Clearly," he replies sarcastically. He sits down beside me and takes his attention away from the small pool of blood. "I'd help you up but I'd rather just sit here get to know you instead."

I'm dumbfounded.

"So what school do you go to?" He crosses his legs.

We were literally on the side of the road sitting like we were homeless or something.

"I don't go to school, I'm taking a gap year," I say this through gritted teeth.

A gush of cold wind passed by causing my wound to sting a little.

"That's cool. I'm in my last year of high school if you're wondering."

I wasn't wondering. What I was wondering though is how this boy is so comfortable sitting like this. The pavement is so cold and painful.

"What are you doing in the mean time then?" He tilts his head cutely.

"I'm working full time."

"Oh cool! Where do you work?"

"A cafe."

"Where about's?"

"Yongsan-gu, by the train station."

"What times do you-"

"Wonwoo my knee hurts."

He immediately bites his tongue. "I'm sorry..." The guilty look on his face made me regret the sudden snap.

"It's not your fault," I say softly. "But can we go now? I still have work tomorrow."

He nods. He then takes his bum off the pavement, turned around and patted his back. "Get on."

"You can just help me walk. It's-"

"Noona, I like you. Get on."

Everything he has said and done from the basketball court til now has caught me by surprise. There was nothing else I could do but to shut up.

He carried me on his back like it was nothing. It must pay to be an athlete. "So noona, do you like anyone?"

I shake my head. "No."

He laughs lightly. "That's good news for me."

I suddenly got curious. "How do you even know who I am?"

"How could I miss such a pretty face? I get excited whenever you come to the basketball courts with Hansol hyung." For a younger boy he was really confident. "Though I do get jealous at the same time."

"You're really honest." I rest my chin on his shoulder.

He shrugs. "I don't play around. That's for the basketball court only."

"I like that." I admitted.

"I like you," he answers.

I should be getting used to it by now, but every time he says that, I get a little shy.

For the rest of the walk he just kept asking questions about me. We even shared a few laughs. By the time the walk to my house was over, I felt like maybe I didn't want to get off his back.

"Thanks for walking me home, literally." I lean against the door frame of my house to keep myself from falling, again.

He smiles sweetly. "I liked it."

"Have a good night, Jeon Wonwoo." I was about to turn and open the door when he stops me.

"Noona, can I have your number?" His eyes were pleading so hard I couldn't reject him.

I gestured for him to give me his phone.

He hands it to me obediently with two hands.

While I dialled my number in I asked, "what's your dream, Jeon Wonwoo?"

He doesn't answer straight away. For the first time, he was actually a little hesitant. "I make music." He says shyly. "Everyone thinks I want to be a basketball player because I'm good at it but no," he shakes his head, "music is my passion."

A smile creeps onto my lips as I hand him back his phone. "Let me hear some of your stuff some time."

His face mirrors mine. "Noona, you're the first one to ask me that question."

"To hear your music?"

He shakes his head slowly without breaking eye contact. "To ask what my dream is. You didn't assume that it was basketball."

You're very good at it Jeon Wonwoo, I do notice you when you play. You make the court yours. But what people see on the outside is not always how it seems, right?

"One day I hope you can share your dream with me too, noona." He starts to back away.

I give him a wave as I walk into my home.

The fact that he didn't ask what my dream was confused me. He asked me everything he could on the walk here, so why did he decide to leave it?

"You're late." Wonwoo's father didn't even look up from what he was doing on his laptop.

"I'm sorry. I was just practicing." Wonwoo bows a 90 degrees.

"Rules are rules."

"Right." Wonwoo reached into his pocket and placed his phone on the kitchen table by his father's right hand.

His father doesn't respond and goes back to typing.

I hate you, Wonwoo thought.
