Three months later

"You," Tony said, "need to cool down."

Stiles rose a brow. "I have a demon fox in my head, Mister Stark." When he said mister, the sarcasm dripped from his words.

"Don't use that tone," Tony said sternly.

"What would you do, scold me?" Stiles taunted.

"I will, if it comes to a need," Tony said.

"Go ahead," Stiles said. "Do you think you'd make a difference? You're just a small part in my life—what significance do you have?"

"I gave you a home—"

"Oh, you mean the prison that you kept me in? The one that you gave me when you captured me and interrogated me till I cried?" Stiles asked. "I know you saw my tears, Tony. Did you do anything about it?"

"Stiles, he was just trying to help," Peter said from behind Tony.

"By what, giving me a friend like you?" Stiles spat. "I'm sorry, but I think I have the right to choose my own friends."

"Go to your room," Tony said.

"I'd be glad to," Stiles said. "I didn't want to come down in the first place."

"I called you down to ask you if you wanted to hang out with Peter," Tony said, "and all you needed to say was 'no'."

"But I still have the right to say other things," Stiles said, and went up stairs.

"Stiles needs help," Tony said to Bruce.

"I know," Bruce said. He had strands of white hair already. The stress of finding Stiles a cure was taking over his entire life. "I don't understand the supernatural world. We need someone expert in the supernatural world."

"Stiles is," Peter suggested. "If we get him to cooperate, that is."

"There's another way," Tony said. "But this will make Stiles super mad."

"What is it?" Bruce asked. At this point, he was desperate. Any cure was a cure. Stiles had touched his heart—he was like family, and family should protect each other.

"Scott," Tony said.

Suddenly, the windows cracked and a piercing scream cut through the air.

"What was that?" Peter asked.

"A scream," Bruce said. "Only one kind of scream can do that."

"A banshee's," Tony finished.

The door slammed open. "What did you do to him?!"

Lydia Martin.

"What did you do?" Lydia shouted.

"Maybe if you stop breaking windows for no reason, we will," Tony said.

"Maybe if you answer my question, I wouldn't break your back or skull," Lydia said.

"Calm down," Bruce said. "Did you mean Stiles? He's in his room, upstairs."

"Calm down?" Lydia asked. "I have voices in my head."

"I think this is why Stiles had a crush on you," Tony said. "There's so much common traits. He literally just said 'I have a demon fox in my head' like three minutes ago."

"Well, it's not a common trait. We have a spiritual connection," Lydia said. "Show me to his room. Now."

"I can," Peter said. "You guys work on the cure."
