A brown-haired man put down a few bags, reaching for the pocket of his worn out jacket. The hint of a smile lingered on his face, as he searched for his keys, letting his fingers softly touch the objects in the hole of his jacket. Eventually finding what he had looked for, he took the metal key out and inserted it in the rusty lock on the wooden door in front of him. Grabbing the bags once more, he pushed the entrance open and entered the apartment, the grin never leaving his face.
"(Y/N)! I'm home!" His voice echoed through the almost completely empty accommodation, as he patiently waited for his child to burst through one of the doors, knowing she loved to surprise him. Carefully, he took off his jacket, suddenly hearing footsteps behind him. With a wide grin on his face the man turned around and immediately grabbed his daughter, gently lifting her up. While he twirled the (H/C) haired girl through midair, the child giggled, causing her father to laugh as well.
"Daddy! I missed you!" She chirped and tightly hugged her father. He returned the gesture and set her down after some time. The tiny girl now noticed the few bags on the ground beside her, curiosity rushing through her body.
"What's that?" She asked, tilting her head and stretching out one arm in order to open the paper shopping bags. Quickly, her father shoved it aside, a secretive smile lacing his lips.
"That's a surprise dear. I guess you will have to wait until tomorrow." With a slight chuckle he grabbed the objects that had perked his daughter's interest and carried them away. The tiny girl trailed behind her father, pouting as she was still keen on finding out why her dad was not telling her what he was hiding.

The (H/C) haired girl yawned, stretching her arms and blearily staring at the gray wall across from her bed. She slowly rubbed her eyes, attempting to scare her tiredness away. Out of a sudden, the door to her room was pushed open, revealing her dad who was brightly grinning.
"Good morning (Y/N)!" The father rushed over to his daughter and delicately sat down on the edge of her bed right next to her.
"Morning dad..." The girl mumbled, giving the man a still sleepy smile.
"I know what will fully wake you up." Her father got up and threw the old covers aside, causing the child to shiver and cringe due to her bewilderment.
Within one swift movement, he lifted his daughter up once more and exclaimed, "Happy sixth birthday, (Y/N)!" Almost automatically, the tiny girl widened her eyes, realizing that it was indeed her day of birth. Squealing, she embraced her father, happy that he had not forgotten the day as she had herself.
The brown haired man carried the child over to the kitchen and set her down on one of the unstable chairs while pulling out a large present behind his back. Immediately, his daughter beamed and her eyes lit up with joy. Shortly after she was handed the gift, the girl eagerly ripped the paper aside, wanting to find out what her father had gotten her. Spending time with him was enough of a present, she was aware of that, yet actually being gifted something did feel extremely pleasing to the child.
Once all annoying wrapping had disappeared, a soft brown plushie faced the girl. The teddy bear gently smiled at the girl, as a huge grin started covering her face. She jumped off her chair, almost falling in the process but hurriedly stumbled into her father's arms.
"Thank you so much dad!" The girl's cheery voice now illuminated the whole apartment, causing her father to feel that warm sensation inside his chest, every time his eyes met his daughter. He was utterly proud of his little girl. As happy as any father ever could be.

(Y/N) sat in one of the armchairs, cuddling the brown teddy bear she had gotten for her sixth birthday. Somehow this toy had won her heart over in a second - perhaps because she knew her father necessarily had to save a lot of money for the present back then. Plushies usually were too expensive yet strangely enough, her father had managed to buy her one for her day of birth. A smile laced the girl's lips as she hugged the soft teddy tighter, firmly closing her eyes. Truly, there was no person she loved more than her father.
. . .
A noise echoed through the girl's ears, as her head perked up, focusing her eyes on the door to the apartment. It was already evening and she hoped her dad had just returned. Fortunately, exactly that was the case. With an exhausted expression, he stepped into the living room, now noticing his daughter. A faint glimmer of happiness lit up his dark brown eyes as he opened his arms, signalizing his child to join him.
(Y/N) did not hesitate to put her plushie aside and ran towards her father, as he fiercely embraced her.
"Don't ever leave me."
The tone of his voice was demanding, causing the girl to slightly tense up. He stroked the girl's (H/C) colored hair and hummed a soft yet odd melody. The girl detected how sweaty his hands were but she never voiced her thoughts out loud. She did not want to hurt her father, especially now after he had gotten his new job. This one appeared to be rather tiring, however, he insisted on keeping it. Somehow, it was strange. (Y/N) had noticed a change in her father's behavior lately. Sometimes he acted scary, yet she did not object anything. She listened to his every word. She loved him very much. She simply needed to. Losing her father would be equal to losing her life. She would keep obeying, no matter the circumstances.
Gulping, (Y/N) carefully leaned into her father's hug, feeling how he heavily sighed.
"I think I might be going mad." He joked, bitterly laughing.
The little girl did not react and simply stayed in the man's arms. As his hands gripped the girl tighter, he sharply inhaled some air.
"As long as you are still here though, I will be fine." With an ounce of insecurity, (Y/N)'s father whispered these words. Yes, she was his anchor during the hurricane called life.
