Chapter 19: Like Musical Chairs But With Souls

"Daddy!" Gohan cheered, running forward before Luna grabbed the back of his shirt, quickly stopping him.

"Who are you?!" She shouted, surprising the young boy as Vegeta glared at the man in question as well.

"Wha- What are you talking about?" Gohan mumbled, struggling to get free from her grasp. "That's my dad!"

"No... No, it's not..." Luna said lowly, recognizing the evil glare in Goku's eyes. "It's Captain Ginyu!"

"What?! No way!"

"I guess the rumors are true..." Vegeta stated, walking up next to them as the man in the orange gi laughed wickedly.

"Dad! Dad, snap out of it!" Gohan tried, pleading with his father as he only laughed. "Give him back his body!"

"Oh, I don't know... I've grown quite accustomed to this new level of power..." Ginyu taunted, placing a hand under his chin as he glared at the three fighters. "Now, where are my dragonballs?"

"You can't have them!" Luna argued, clenching her fists as she stepped forward. "What did you do to Goku?!"

"I wouldn't worry about him right now..." Ginyu chuckled, adjusting the scouter on the side of his face. "I'd be far more concerned about what's going to happen to you..."

Meanwhile, with Krillin...

"Gotta hurry... There's not much time..." Krillin mumbled to himself, flying as fast as he could. "I just hope Gohan and Luna will be alright with Vegeta back there... And then there's Frieza..." He thought, awful images filling his mind as he shook his head. "If he ever discovered that I was out here by myself, then I would be a goner for sure... I can't waste a second getting to Guru's-"

The bald fighter stopped suddenly, sensing another energy coming his way as he frowned. I've got a feeling I'm not alone...

Just then, he saw someone flying past him not too far away as he recognized the familiar ki. "Wait a second... That's Dende! Hey!"

The Namekian child jumped, his eyes going wide as he looked over his shoulder. "Krillin!" He said happily, blasting towards his friend as he thanked Kami it wasn't one of Frieza's men.

"What a relief!" They said in unison, pausing for a moment before laughing.

"Come on Dende! The others are waiting for us to summon the dragon... We have to hurry!" Krillin said seriously, both of them taking off in the direction of where Goku and the others were.

Back at Frieza's ship...

Luna and Vegeta were going toe to toe with Ginyu, both of them dodging punches and kicks while trying to land their own attacks. Gohan could only hover behind Luna, still in shock that his father could have actually lost his body.

"What now..." Vegeta mumbled, getting everyone's attention as he sensed someone else approaching.

What appeared to be the leader of the Ginyu Force landed unsteadily in the grass, looking up towards the fighters currently battling his body. "Y-your trick won't work Ginyu..." Goku panted, holding his hand to his chest as he covered up a rather large wound that was still bleeding.

"Well, well... Look what the cat dragged in..." Ginyu laughed, looking down at his old body with a smirk. "I must say, you are one tough customer..."

"Gohan! Luna! Listen to me!" Goku shouted, staring up at the two of them as they watched him in shock. "Be careful! Captain Ginyu has taken over my body!"
