Brandon's POV

Tati ran out of her room to chase her brother. I hesitated wether to leave her room or to just stay here just incase she stopped her brother from telling her dad that I was here. Butterflies began gradually growing in my stomach.

I walked out of the room and peeped over the stairway to where I saw her dad coming out of his office. Her brother quickly ran down the stairs screaming with Tati close behind him.

Jason: There's a boy in Tati's room!

He stopped infront of their dad.

Her dad folded him arms in disappointment.

Tati: Dad, I can explain!

She said catching up to them.

Her dad looked up at me and stared for a moment.

I just stood  intimidated by his stare and not knowing what to say or do.

Tati: It's just a friend I met not to long ago. I wanted to show him my art room.

"Come on down, son," her dad said with a very deep voice.

Tati: Daddy...

I felt her dad closely watching me as I walked down the steps and as I came into the living area to meet them.

The butterflies in my stomach suddenly grew stronger.

Standing beside Tati was Jason. He had a big smile on his face entertained by what was happening.

Tati: Daddy, this is Brandon. She said nervously.

Her dad stared at me, not acknowledging Tati's words.

Me: Nice to meet you, mister uhh...

"James," he said shaking my hand.

Mr. James: Tell me son, how'd you meet Tatiana?

I looked to her and then quickly back to her dad.

Me: At a gas station, sir.

I said sort've nervously.

He looked to Tati.

Mr. James: Humph.

There was complete silence for a moment.

Mr.James: No closed doors.

He turned around to grab a stack of newspapers from the table and then went back into his office.

Tati's smile returned and she took my hand again.

Tati: Let's go.

She lead me back to her room.

Once we made it to her room, she got the remote to her closest and closed the door back. Then she sat her her bed and I sat beside her.

Tati: I'm sorry about my dad. He usually isn't as strict, but ever since...

She looked down with ashamed looked her face.

Me: Since what?

I said concerned.

Tati: Around six or seven months ago, when I was with my exboyfriend- we had just started dating at the time - we were in here together and he tried to rush the physically stuff. Well, he tried to force me and dad walked by and heard us arguing about it and then kicked him out.

Since then, my dad has just been even more cautious about me being around guys. I understand why, but at the same time its super annoying.

Me: Oh, I'm sorry.
