Via's POV
Surprisingly, Von and I didn't talk at all during the car ride. He played soft music while we rode and would glaze at me briefly whenever he thought I couldn't see him; sort've like a game. He'd glance at me then I'd look over at him to catch him in the act, but before I could, he'd look away as if he wasn't staring at me.
Soon, we pulled up into a familiar subdivision.... Saundra's subdivision.
I turned to Von with a confused look on my face.
Me: You live here too?
He looked to me and smurked once again. One hand was on the wheel with his phone in his other hand. The sunlight hit his face perfectly, defining his strong facial features. I just about melted.
Von: Yeah.
I sat back in my seat and observed the beautifulness of neighborhood as we past through. The vibrant colors of all of the flowers caught my attention the most. I was surprised how green everyone's grass was and how one thing never seemed out of place. We even passed a huge dog park where all of the dogs we're definitely well groomed and pranced while on walks with their owners.
I loved the peaceful vibe the neighborhood gave off. My neighborhood was also peaceful, but never as lively as this neighborhood.
We came upon the same street that Saundra lived on: Palmer Street.
Von: We're not going to Saundra's place. I live next to her.
Me: Oh...
“That explains how he might've met her,” I thought to myself, but I couldn't help but wonder if what the girl that rides my bus said was true.
Me: So, you and Shaundra should know each other pretty well, huh?
Von: I guess you can say that.
The mail truck passed by us and I notice Von's face light up instantly. He stepped on the gas a little harder to get us to his house faster.
We pulled up at the biggest house on the block!
His house stood on the curve of the road with Shaundra's house to the left and another house that was similar to Shandra's on the right. Beautiful landscaping surrounded the entrance.
Me: This is beautiful!
Von: Thanks, I'm glad you like it. This is just the outside, wait till you see the inside.
He opened his door then came around to open mine for me.
Von: Come on, let me give you a tour.
He took my hand as I got up, and glanced into my eyes, I glanced back. It shocked me that he didn't glance away once I did. His piercing eyes intimated me, making me want to look away, but I fought the urge to because even though he had a powerful stare, I found it very attractive.
After a brief moment, his eyes broke away from mine and he immediately went to his mail box near the street.
Von: Just one sec...
He jogged to his mail box, opened it, and grabbed a handful of mail. He went through it and looked very disappointed once he got to the end of the stack, then he walked back up to where I was standing.
Me: Where you expecting some important mail?
Von: Yeah... I kind of was, but its no big deal.
He blankly starred at the mail in his hand then back up to me.
Von: Come on, lemme give you a tour.
He took my hand once again and lead me into his house.
His house was huge with not much furniture in it, which left it very spacious. The interior if the living room was decorated beautifully and looked very modern. There were gray walls and the couches were pure white. There was a clear glass table that stood in the middle of the living room floor and there was also a big fish tank filled with piranhas; my favorite type of fish.
