Lance McClain, the smartest kid in his school, was never wrong. He had straight As and a friend group that'd stick with him forever, even a boyfriend that he loved dearly. He seemed like he had it all, like the ultimate Mr. Popular cliche. He has lots of responsibilities, stress, and most importantly, panic. He envies people who are wrong, and in his current case, being wrong would save a few lives.

Water dripped steadily from the sink's faucet as he threw up into the toilet, the drip-drop barely audible against the teen's ragged breaths and gags. This was the second time out of the day where he had thrown up his contents, feeling like his intestines were to spill out any second.

He collapsed on the floor, a fresh wave of nausea and panic washing over him. He missed school yet again due to his panic attack. Sighing, he dragged himself to the door and opened it, feeling the slight breeze from his room's fan hit his face. What did I do to deserve this shit? Mama's gonna kill me if the office calls.

Lance pulled himself onto his bed and took his outer garments off, leaving his boxers. Using the breeze to calm himself down, he got out his phone to call his mother. He dialed her phone number and shakily brought the device up to his ear.

"Hello?" an unfamiliar, masculine voice asked through the speaker.

"Where's Mama? What did you do to her?" Lance was panicking even more, the thought that something happened to her and he might be alone scared him half to death.

"Oh, is this Lance McClain?"

"Yes," Lance said warily.

"I'm sorry to inform you that your mother, Rosa McClain, and your father, Leonardo McClain, have both passed due to an automobile accident. We are terribly sorry for your loss. If you could give us your address, we will drive straight over to council you."

Lance was right yet again.
