I waited nervously, rocking back and forth on my heels, as I waited for my partner to show up. I was a new hero at the agency so they wanted me to patrol with someone who was more experienced. I had agreed to the idea at first, but now I was regretting it; what if my partner was intimidating? Or aggressive? Or just really intense?!

"Oi extra! Are you the one who I have to lug around all day?" I whipped around at the sound of a gruff voice to see a seething blonde trudging toward me. A fierce expression contorted his handsome face, my hands already shaking at the sight of him; Bakugo Katsuki. A young hero who already scaled the ranks within his first year of service. Despite this, he wasn't very popular due to his brutal methods of dealing with criminals.

"Hey! I asked you a question! You gonna answer or nah?" Bakugo brought his nose close to my face, his scowl deepening. I shrank back, my eyes averted. "Y-Y-Yeah, I am..." The fact that he was so close made me even more nervous than I already was, my hands already shaking slightly. "Well are you gonna tell me your name?!" Bakugo leaned back, checking some of his gear before glancing back at me.

"O-O-Oh! Well, my n-n-name's Y/n..." He blinked once before turning around, storming off down the street. I stood there awkwardly, not sure if I was supposed to follow or not. "Well are you coming Y/n?! We're supposed to be patrolling, not just standing guard in front of the agency!"

"Ah, right!"

It had been a couple months since then, but Bakugo and I were still a team. His overly aggressive style of fighting worked well with my force field Quirk, which allowed him to let loose while I took care of minimizing damage and protecting the civilians.

"Bakugo! Be careful!" I jumped down from a building onto one of my force fields, running over the city as the ornery blonde propelled himself through the streets with his Quirk. I had to constantly create new force fields to protect personal property and the bystanders. "I'm fine Y/n! I'm just a little excited is all... It's been a while since I've gotten to fight a tough bastard like him!"

I sighed as Bakugo charged ahead, leaving me to observe from above. The villain that we were currently chasing was already a couple streets in front of us, but he wasn't going to escape considering that I had already set up boundaries in his direction. I felt a sudden jolt on one in particular; the villain had run straight into it.

"He's there! At point C!" I spoke into my mic because my partner was already out of earshot. "I can see him. Good thing too because I can't wait to beat this little shit!"

"Don't go crazy til I get there!" There was no reply which lead me to sigh again; he wasn't going to listen to me even if I begged. I jumped down onto the ground, taking off through back allies to make it to the fight faster.

I caught a whiff of gunpowder, followed by the earsplitting sound of grenades; I had made it two minutes earlier than I thought I would. I immediately created a new force field that trapped us all into one street, keeping bystanders out and the villain trapped. Water was dripping off of Bakugo, his hair sopping wet. Even so, his hands crackled with firepower, a sadistic grin on his face.

"Water Quirk, huh?" I jumped into a fighting stance, the metal on my gloves glinting in the humid air. "I mean, obviously." Bakugo smirked, never missing an opportunity to tease me. I rolled my eyes when I felt something slam against my side, throwing me into my own force field. "Y/n!" Bakugo yelled, before turning back toward the villain.

"Damn it's like a fire hose!" I groaned, rubbing my side that was going to have a monster bruise in the morning. My partner was firing off explosions left and right, only to have them drowned out by the villains water. I ran up to the criminal, a force field set up in front of myself so that I couldn't get hit by his attack. At the last second I released it, ready to swing at him.

Still the villain brought his hands up, shooting off the water at me again. While he did though, I smirked, my force field reappearing quickly so I was only hit a little. The real trouble was behind him. "DIE!!!" Bakugo jumped down at the villain from above, his hands crackling with energy. He set off a huge explosion, rattling my barriers with the sheer power.

Once the smoke cleared, the villain was laying unconscious on the cracked pavement. Without a word, Bakugo offered out his hand, a bit of pink crossing his cheeks when our palms touched. "Good job as always, Bakugo." I smiled brightly at him, dissipating the force fields. He just turned his head away with a "tch".

Police forces, news networks, and fans poured into the once restricted space, turning the space into a crowded pandemonium. I frantically looked around for Bakugo, hoping that I could find a familiar face, but no luck. Instead I was swarmed by fans and news casters, all of them throwing different questions my way.

I never got comfortable dealing with this many people and I wasn't even able to utter out a complete sentence. Some people had pictures of me shoved in my direction, obviously wanting signatures, while others had microphones in my face, wanting words for the news. I waved my hands in front of my face, practically dizzy from all the movement; I wanted to please them all, but I just didn't know where to start. "Hey, fuck off."

Someone grabbed me from behind, pulling me close. "Can't you guys see that Y/n's obviously overwhelmed at the moment? Not to mention soaking wet. Fuck off until she can get a second to breathe, you shitty extras." My heart throbbed at the kind, yet vulgar words. I looked up to see the gorgeous face of my partner, his muscular arms hugging me against his strong chest.

The paparazzi grumbled angrily, but quickly walked off, scared of him. "T-T-Thanks Bakugo..." I sighed, shivering a little from the sudden cold. He averted his gaze stubbornly, dragging me by the hand to where the medics were waiting to check for any injuries. "Yeah yeah, just know that you owe me. And by that I mean you're going on a date with me, whether you want to or not."

I felt my face go red at his sudden confession. "Wait, you want to go on a date... With me?" He turned around, his nose wrinkled. "Well duh, what are you stupid? Jeez, at least try to be excited."

"I am!" I beamed, giving him a tight hug around the waist. "Wha?! Y/n! Fuck off!" He tried desperately to shove me off, but I stayed firm. Finally he gave in, awkwardly hugging me back, obviously a little embarrassed. "You're so fucking annoying, you know that?"

"Love you too babe."
